We aren't getting millions for him, and my gut tells me if we hold out and avoid playing him, it's just an opportunity for us to have our pants pulled down as we're signalling we want to sell - which will be interpreted as 'need' to sell by other clubs.

It's more trouble than it's worth trying to negotiate a great deal in January. Sell him for £300,000 and there will be a few toys flung out of the pram. Just get him played and to hell with the fantasy football nonsense.

 

It's a FIFA rule not an EFL rule but it is clear and no room for interpretation.
"Players may be registered with a maximum of three clubs during one season. During this
period, the player is only eligible to play official matches for two clubs."

Crazy thing is, even as an unused sub, the player is under the authority of the referee and could be booked or sent off.

I don't really see how a player could play for Swindon, potentially get a red card for (but not play for) Bradford City, then play for another different club even after a suspension incurred at a second club.

I dunno... rule is dumb. FIFA could do better with that one.

Hopefully 'unused substitute' is categorically classed as a non-player in FIFA's rules.

Crawley have not drawn a game since 24th October winning 7, losing 7 (all competitions ). There record against top end teams is poor but mid table and lower league opposition, quite excellent.

I have a fear, hopefully wrong, that these message boards will be rather negative tonight
