If I was Alexander, I'd be rethinking the LWB situation in Richards' absence.

Ridehalgh isn't up to it and kills off that entire left side. Maybe Oduor at LWB and Pointon centrally if Walker is still unavailable. That would instantly improve the attacking threat and quality of the side.

 

It could work either way. Rule nothing out for sure.

 

So it sounds like we're not playing Jake.

We're pretending this isn't a convenient way for us to buy time for a bid to come in.

I'm sure there is a slight niggle in the ankle, but if there isn't a serious offer in the next week, we need to get cracking.

GA said he wouldn’t hold him back just in case a firmer offer comes in. So if he is deemed fit to play my guess will be he is on the bench. A good week of training would probably have been better and give the team longer to incorporate a new striker.

I don’t trust the club not to sell him, that is for sure. However GA said he wouldn’t do that, so I will take him at his word. If he is not in the 18, then I will assume the club are selling him to the highest bidder!!

 

Other than the press conference comments, I can't find anything to suggest Jake won't be included. He's played the last few games for Swindon so I fully expect him to be in the squad.

 

Just need this forum members to club together and fund a bid for him and then loan him back to City ...!!

 

Let's hope we can break the awful run against Creepy we have. 8 games with a win against them I believe?

Haven't looked into it, but that would make more sense than 'he actually has to kick a ball'.

 

I am not sure sitting on the bench counts as an appearance.Stuart Mccall did that for England under 21, but changed his mind and went to play for the jocks.

 

Agree with you. We're at home. We should be braver.

He won't do this but I'd play Oduor or Pointon there knowing that the attacking advantage we get will create goal chances and we'll find a way to defend knowing that they won't atfack much being away.

I'll say this as well - if we don't win this we won't make the play offs. When GA joined we were 9 or 10 points off 7th. After the good run we've had we're still 5 off. Folk will say "win at home, draw away" but that's not enough when we're already playing catch up.

Crucial game this to kick start another run of wins. Crawley will look to nick a goal and hold on, we must be brave, attack and win.

 

Apparently we have only just put his club number on his shirt. He didn’t even have a bona fida club shirt!

 

Wouldn’t it be the same as being cup tied, in that you can be named on the bench but if you don’t come on then you aren’t cup tied?

 

What time's the pitch inspection...?

 

The rule is you can't play for more than 2 clubs but you can be registered for 3 clubs, if he's an unused sub then he's not played for us so he can sign and play for other club. As @Inspector says it follows the same format as a playing being cup tied so you only become cup tied once you step onto the pitch.

 

I'm not 100 % sure, but that seems like a daft rule.

Anyone confirm?

Sounds like a silly rule for the EFL to put in place, but as long as it's not open to interpretation then whatever.

I'm gonna guess Young won't be named on the bench.

There is zero point naming him on the bench if we're planning not to use him.

 

Did anyone pick up on GAs comments about players learning to adapt and play in other positions? I took that to be a direct reference to Pointon playing in the Walker role.
