I think you have identified that Gillie is a good squad player. A versatile player, who can fill a lot of slots.

To be fair he covers a lot of ground, puts challenges in, carries the ball well, can beat a defender on a one to one, and simply put is a lively player.

He fails to get many assists, and his goal return as a creative ‘attacking’ midfielder is very poor.

If we do have any money/wage to spend or pay, we must get a quality player for this division for that position.

Hope you didn't have the ticket attendant scan your e-ticket and not realise. Then claim that your ticket has already been used and not accept that she had just scanned it. Then have to walk the length of the ground to stand for ten minutes at the ticket office for them to unblock the ticket (while confirming it had been scanned twice) then finally getting into the ground at kick off having left the record cafe half an hour earlier.

Then you've got the big teams that have gone bust or bankrupt or into receivership and still didn't fall as far as we did, or in some cases bounced back far quicker.

I too mentioned before the start of the season that if we had a starting midfield of Smallwood and Gilliead, then we won't have improved. Unfortunately that looks to be the case. The false dawn feels like its over unless we can get some real creativity back in this side. Alas, I doubt we'll see much action in the window because there's no money to spend. Hughes looks to have blown the lot with an over inflated squad, hence Alexander making the excuse that we've got enough quality already. Add to that the mysterious injury to Young who looks like being sold. Smallwood, Walker, Pattison, Chapman, Oliver and Cook must be taking a large chunk out of the playing budget. With the exception of Cook have we really had value for money? Then factor in all the others and you really see how badly put together this squad is. With the exception of Lewis and Young there's no resale value at all. Pointon maybe but not for much.

Have you ever been to Wigan?

    LMAO

Wigan doesn't even care about Wigan, it's a little rugby town.

You're comparing that to the city of Bradford and thinking any of it - even the club - is bigger in size?

    Don't be silly, Eccy!

Bigger or more successful. If you're going by crowd size then yes, you're right but we'd probably get spanked by Wigan if we played them today. I think in this scenario, size doesn't matter.

They’re not supposed to flag until a player has touched the ball. It’s nothing to do with VAR.

If you read my post properly,i did say in the not too distant future, not at this moment.Lets face it,its not going to get any better.Coventry were banned from playing at home for a few matches after the rugby world cup,and that surface was arguably no worse than VP is at the moment.

Weren't Wigan absolutely pap prior to the start of this century?

They have never been more successful than us before, have they?

They're hardly a Burnley-type side with a great history of footballing success, they've had (at best) 15 years as a decent club.

But yeah, at the minute they're better than us.

We should, by all counts, be doing better than them because we're a much bigger club than they are.

Halfway through the home campaign for this season, seems to be following the trends of recent years, where we cannot buy a win at home.

Must be one of the worst teams in the country on our own pitch
    2023/24 4 wins from 12
    2022/23 9 wins from 23
    2021/22 6 wins from 23
    2020/21 9 wins from 23

The curtailed season of 2019/20, we won 11 from 18, the last time it was remotely decent.

It's killing us really, 28 wins in 81 games at home

I did read it properly. What I am trying to say is that it will never become too dangerous to play unless of frozen solid pitch.

Did you think the pitch was too dangerous when we beat Sunderland in the FA Cup a few years ago?

Can't argue with that. Wigan had a rich local fan who put an infrastructure in place for both sports. Unfortunately for them, when he left the wheels came off on the football side.

They may have been pants pre 2000 but have left us standing since. It will probably be the case with Stockport.
