What an injury time, a time all season that has been our curse! Best 5 minutes in years at home, still haven’t calmed down think I need a few pints! That ending made the first poor 85 minutes worth sitting through.

All the more sweeter victory over their time wasting tactics. It's about time we ragged a home win.

THAT noise when Cooks header went in-Reminded me of Villa at Home Cup Semi.

No he didn’t, he sat on the roof next to a block of the sun win, removed his boots shin pads and socks, watched for a bit then got something from inside and was back outside. Stop making crap up

You might be right but the pattern against Barrow was fanny about at the back. When the ball went to the full backs they just turned it back inside to the CB. On Tuesday I'm not sure they passed back at all. It was noticeable how often they hit it down the line and for once we had players showing for it - particularly Costelloe. If we didn't control it we often won a throw in the opposition half. I really felt the whole team clicked on Tuesday. I would start the same team and if its obviously not working change it. Just my opinion of course

    Serves Colchester right.

How the hell there were only 4 added minutes with there time-wasting was a joke.

They then wasted another minute with that melee for there time-wasting in added time.

Sweet we still had time to still score 2

Just before we took the corner for the first goal I said to myself, 'Come on. Just for once let something go our way...' Brilliant end to a very difficult game!

You'll love this @Loyal "guilty as charged" but not to beat the traffic, I didn't fancy getting out of the stadium with thousands of p****d off Bradford City fans with two sticks.
Just got to the memorial and an almighty cheer went up followed by that wonderful rendition of, Andy Cook Andy Cook Andy Andy Cook he gets the ball and scores a goal Andy Andy Cook .

I asked the grandson was it a shot or header from the monster he said a header grandad, on seeing it that was no ordinary header, very much a Tony Leighton header boy could he jump and stay in the air, just like a tin of John West ha ha ha I love it, great awareness for the assist for Bankside, a goal poacher in Cooks sort of form doesn't usually look for an assist just proves what an all-round game Cook has.

Noticeable how the subs ran on including Smallwood. Looks like they are all in it together which is good.

Taking smallwood, clayton and gillead off was a master stroke from hughes. Glad to see he trusted East in the middle. Thats what you call strength in depth.

Didn't you see him jumping in on Cooky after he scored? How would he do that if he was sulking in the changing rooms as you alluded to?

Colchester wasted time from the start in the reverse fixture but caught us with a sucker punch in added time. Good to get their cumuppance

Without a goalkeeper id say we'd be bottom with a - 89 goal difference. Fortunately FA rules allow us to recruit and use a goalkeeper. Thank f for that!

Spot on with them. Thought Halliday's was excellent. If we take Lewis and Cook as the two outstanding performers this season, I'd have him down as my best of the rest. Proper unsung hero.

Gillingham felt like a turning point to me.....but we all know our team has the capability to let us down when we least expect it. However, I would at least start with the same team. We were solid all over the pitch and created plenty of opportunities.

Without appearing to go over the top I think this game is potentially going to be one of the most pivotal games of the season,
The away victory at Donny was achieved with what appeared to be little threat to our goal and the minimum fuss and I think most on here agree that Tuesdays win at Gillingham was our best overall performance of the season.
    Little threat to our goal.
    Midfield linking play well
    Walkers best game for us
    Costelloe a willing runner.
Cook doing what he’s done all season.

Now the 64 million dollar question.
Can we back it up at home tomorrow in front of a big crowd and prove that we are a real contender for a top 3 spot?

Or will we do what we’ve done consistently over the years and fail to back up 2 excellent away wins with another limp, insipid performance in front of a massive home crowd?

Should the worst happen and we get beat(they are on a decent run away from home) then obviously it’s not the end of the season, but if we win then it could be the result that convinces not just us but the other teams in the division that we are capable of a proper run towards the top 3 places.

The players say how keen they are to put right the home form and the Rochdale and Barrow games.

Tomorrow’s the best way to show that they really mean it.

    Over to you boys.

I know this might sound harsh but was Smallwood ever on, his delivery today was poor to say the least, credit to Hughes for bringing the lad off, in fact credit to Hughes for making some very good subs today most contributed to our late come back.

I think if I was one of their fans I’d be a bit pissed off that after a 250 mile trip away your manager sends your team out with the explicit instruction to waste time from minute 1 of the game.
I’ve no qualms with teams who come and “park the bus”. Or go 1-0 up and waste a few seconds here and there.
All teams do that (even us)
It’s up to the home team to break them down.
I also don’t expect teams to come and pile forward from minute 1 either.
But today was so blatant it was scary.
They weren’t even subtle about it.

The daft thing was that when they did play a bit of football I thought they looked ok.
They looked quite mobile in midfield and counter attacked with a bit of pace.

Why the manager chose the option that he did is a strange one.

It was nice to shove their antics right up them today with the 2 late goals.
