That had to be a joke MOTM Smallwood .

 

As always we see things differently. First half agree we weren’t great, but very very poor is pretty harsh based on what I watched on ifollow.

Morais and the commentary team gave a fair POV on today’s game throughout IMO.

 

Bar that I thought the ref was decent. Carlisle shaded first half we were better second. Good to see Hughes make some attacking substitutions. The change of shape helped us get the better of them second half.
I can see why they are up there. Lots of effort physicality closing us down quickly preventing us playing. Lots of effort. Low on quality. Chapmans decision making is amazingly bad. Another good effort by cook making chances for himself. Deserved a goal. Autos still possible but we have to play with that level of intensity in all remaining games. Any more lackadaisical performances and it will be too late.

 

And that wasn't a lot.

Don’t think he offers anything at all.

 

Same result but better performance tonight enjoyed the match

 

It's certainly not helped but not sure it's killed our hopes, we have nearly 2 weeks without a game we need Derbyshire, Walker back fit.
I couldn't believe after hearing Hughes glowing comments with regards the kid Costelloe he couldn't even get on the bench, like it or not he makes runs off the ball and drags defenders with him I saw little of that tonight.

 

Simon Parker reported that he has an injury. Not sure what.

 

Positives:

early (ish) subs
Carlisle have 2 tough away games to come


Negatives:
Chapman-has he actually had a shot on target all season?
Smallwoods corners

 

An even sort of huff and puff game from both teams. Neither keeper tested,.
They have to be far happier than us , maintaining the status quo.
Unfortunately our home form has done for the autos and its looking like the playoff's, which are a complete lottery.
If we miss out on promotion , i hope this full season has taught Mr Hughes that he needs to change his style at home . 19 matches 7 wins 8 draws and 4 defeats so far ,is not the form of a team that is looking for promotion.

 

I thought it was just me, I looked at the bench and Hughes and Hodges were having a natter never even notice the ref had cocked up.

 

PS, do we actually practice shooting and set pieces. Never known a season so poor.

I posted I thought Bola could be back as Ridehalgh IMO has been average at best resently, and tonight's performance hasn't changed my opinion.

If we end up going up this season it will surely be the most underwhelming promotion season in our history but I’ll put it to the back of my mind and look forward to league 1

 

I think they shaded first half and we more than shaded the second. At 80 minutes they started to look all in, and with that their confidence went as well.
Great effort from the team, no complaints. May be we should practice different styles of play so we can switch which is what we did when the subs came on.
I don’t know why but I don’t think that we are out of it yet. I did after Hartlepool, but I saw determination tonight. We are going to need double that and confidence. We are really hard to beat sleep on that one.
I thought Gilleard was outstanding tonight. Cook once again put in a magnificent effort was unlucky not to score. All the back 4 put a shift in. So did the subs when they came on. Oliver plays much better if the midfield get a bit nearer to him.
