Away manager in “getting a bit of stick from the home fans” shocker.

You say it’s a tiny % regarding the minutes silence.
The stick Simpson got from a handful of fans in a stand that holds 9000 is a tiny % as well so let’s not make this out to be something other than an away manager getting some aggro from a few home fans.

    It’s football
    It happens.
    Get over yourself.

That one numpty actually represents a bigger % than our numpties. Looks like we've got less points than them and less numpties ffs, hey ho

I was there Bry, it was far more than "one fan" and they weren't by the turnstiles either. I sit right next to the away fans and witnessed for myself a few idiots in the seats singing songs during the silence.

Admittedly it was only a small handful but then again, it's enough.

And yes, the Gibson chant is wrong but then again, I'm not the one that was taking the moral high ground by moaning to the press and pretending everything about my club is holier than thou.

Agree Northern, I was there too and this 'only one fan' excuse is a load of crap. There were many.

And they weren't "by the turnstiles" either, that has been trotted out presumably so the excuse can be that they weren't aware the silence was ongoing.

Although Ridealgh is a non attacking fullback, he is a steady defender. Those calling for Bola need to remember he's only played twice and his first game looked exactly that, his first game EVER. He's been out for a few weeks again, so I wouldn't risk putting him in only to get another performance like his first one. Then again, Hughes will have seen more of him than me.

I agree with this inspector but I do feel the upside to Bola might make him worth a risk of he can get a couple of good sub appearances under his belt. He's a good athlete and has pace, both of which we are very short of at the minute.

He did look to have something about him in the second game, but Crichlow seems to be the "go to" defender coming on, so I'm not sure he going to get many chances unless he starts and then comes off.

Thank you for coming on here and educating us mate, it’s important that innocent squeaky clean fans like yourselves educate our idiotic masses. Carlisle fans would never do anything would they? It’s not like Hartlepool have still to repair 300 seats that your fans destroyed and it’s not like your fans would ever chant anything offensive https://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/23245204.racist-chanting-carlisle-united-v-bradford-city-game-investigated/ oops my mistake.

I’m not saying it’s right but players and managers have got to expect a level of abuse it’s part of the parcel. When Stuart McCall was our manager I went to Gigg lane against Bury where they abused him all game and screamed fat nonce at him, when Mark Marshall scored an absolute beauty McCall didn’t whinge in the press he simply turned round and grabbed his stomach to the home fans. Even Nigel Clough at our place a month or so ago when they equalised game our fans some back, most managers get the same sort of crap including ours but most don’t go moaning about it.

Be careful in that glass house of yours it’s sharp. Best of luck for the rest of the season, I actually like Carlisle and if we don’t go up hope you do over the likes of Northampton and Salford.

Why do fans of football try and take the moral high ground when generally as a sport it's morals are lower than a snakes belly. A bit like getting upset at fans who interupt a minutes silence, one thing you find as you get older is you cannot dictate how others will react no matter how vile or upsetting some will try to be as with the Gibson and Andy Cook chants. It's an unfortunate part of not just football but society in general, better off just paying a minutes silence in the way you feel appropriate and ignore the shite that comes out of people's mouths. Really isn't worth getting upset over.

Ridehalgh , probably due to injury and perhaps illness has blown hot and cold all too frequently this season. He used to do the Halliday type forays up the wing, consistently….Nowadays it’s certainly not as common.
Alas time for a change…he will be released imho.

I'm with you on this one, yes Ridehalgh isn't great but he's steady enough defensive wise for us at this level. The fact he's not the best at getting forward and adding to our attacks is more of a reflection on our forward players not doing enough in the first place, and not the left backs attacking ability.

When Ridehalgh first joined, going forward and his crossing was a big strength. Accepting that now he's just a Stephen Darby type defender shows one of two things. Either we're happy with his regression or b, we're happy with the teams regression.

Foulds was better than Ridehalgh and the management thought replacing Foulds with Bola was a good idea so in reality we're now accepting that our 3rd choice left back is our best option.

I fully agree with all of this, I had no problem with Foulds, but what I was trying to say is I think Ridehalgh being steady L2 defensive wise full back should still be enough for us to achieve our goal.

If it goal is promotion then that's VERY debatable.

It may happen but it's certainly not in the "should" category imo.

Once again fully agree with you, but my use of the word should was meant more on the lines of Ridehalgh at left back is still more than capable of being part of a promotion winning side, If we achieve that or not is obviously still up in the air.
