But i thought we are shite and a complete basket case of a club. Funny how someone from the outside sees it differently.
Watched the highlights this morning. Lewis could have done better for their first goal and Osadibe should have just lumped the ball into touch for the second, then Lewis should have commanded his six yard box when the cross came in.

Lewis continues to make very good saves. The issue this season has been that he has let several soft ones in too. These often have been the opening goal and this changes the momentum of games putting us on the back foot. That said he was so good last season that he would likely not be at the same level this year. TBH as frustrating as it has been I still wouldn’t swap him for another keeper as I believe his ability and ceiling is much higher than league 2. Unlike many others in the squad.
I just hope he recaptures that consistency.

It sounds dumb, but take out their 2 goals and we were much the better team.

Thought the ref was good! Better than our first half defending anyway.

We need to play like we did in the second half for 90 mins against Barrow with the right players on the pitch.

Agree! Their style or perhaps the style of teams in the league above suited us today. Although they did press it was nowhere as fast paced as league2. Midfield was able to get on the ball and our 2 for me impressed more than theirs did. We looked a tidy side. But good sides don’t cough up goals like the ones we conceded. Sift. Bad marking / communication. And it cost us. for me not strengthening left back this summer was a mistake. Halliday is really offering an outlet down the right. A consistent overlapping threat today. Ridehalgh however doesn’t have than mobility. It’s pretty stark, the difference.

I'm not sure what Richards has done wrong?
He looks better defensively then Ridehalgh. Maybe not as good a crosser of the ball though.

I’ve just watched highlights from yesterday. Both goals are abysmal. Another Lewis mistake for the first, osadebe wants lynching for the second

Whoever the new manager is, he really needs to stop our leaky defence. Our inability to keep a clean sheet this season is atrocious

My comment related to time keeping (or lack of authority and attention to detail on it)

First half finished early. Numerous time wasting incidents with hardly no time added on. A lot of subs but not converted into additional time. Blowing the whistle extremely punctually when we were attacking with the ball.

Just odd and totally opposite of how the season started with regards to time keeping.

It's clear the directives given out at the start of the season have been forgotten about after 3 months.

    Yesterday saw -
kicking the ball away right in front of the referee - no yellow card
persistent time wasting in the second half - no yellow card until the 87th minute and would have seen at least 10 minutes added on in August.

I'd make a tweak to the rule in so that, if a player is booked for timewasting then the free kick or throw in is then reversed and given to the opposite team. For a goalkeeper timewasting at a goal kick the opposition receive a corner

And yet Tomkinson is totally ignored week after week. How the hell are we supposed to know if he's any good when he's constantly sat in the stands when the likes of Taylor are out there???

No mate, got the tickets but illness stepped in.
My Taylor comment was regarding previous performances where, on the whole, have been poor for me.

Taylor was no better or worse than Stubbs, who burried the header for the own goal. Shame the centre halves are not as clinical in the opposition penalty area.

Always though a defender makes a better manager, Roy, Trevor, if not a deeper lying midfielder.

Good teams are generally based on a sound defence?
