You are a bit stuffed on the Thursday night if you want to travel by train!

Plenty of trains back to Nottingham on the Friday late afternoon/early evening.

Didn't Mr Sparks say, we are no better off, as a league 2 club than before, but would be if we gained promotion, so we voted for the deal.

He did. As a L2 club we're actually worse off. But supposedly in L1 better off.

He did indeed. I think he's probably about right too, as the projected numbers didn't mention at all clubs who did well out of iFollow. I guess for a club like ours, the projected (not confirmed) extra 25% would roughly be about what iFollow numbers gave a club like ours last season? So it about balances for us in L2, but making the jump upwards would let us see the extra monies.

It's probably a really good deal for clubs with small fanbases in the league. Not to go all Hot Fuzz, but you can see why it was unanimously voted in for the "Greater Good".

Didn’t stop 25000 turning up on a cold Dec Tuesday night when we played Arsenal.
Don’t use travel options as the reason.
Yes it would be tough for Notts fans using public transport but in all honesty that’s a very small minority affected as the majority will drive.

The myth goes on! There were not 25,000 in the stadium! The number of tickets sold was 23,971 and even then a small number, for a variety of reasons, such as health, transport, work, family/personal reasons will not actually have been at the match.

Ok but the point is that it’s possible for an almost full capacity VP on a midweek night even though travel options are limited.

I wouldn’t disagree with that. Perhaps at best a ‘Blue Moon’ frequency, with promotions to entice people, or another mythical Premiership giant at home? Even then more likely to attract people to a weekend 3.00pm kick off.

Arsenal took the whole if Midland Road up, there will also have been a fair few in the home ends. Realistically there will have been north of 6k Arsenal fans in the ground that night from a 24k crowd which puts the home fans at a level we were at against Tranmere on Saturday.

There is absolutely no doubt about it that this move will knock thousands off the gate.

I think you're getting slightly mixed up who it is that is actually responsible for all the fixture changes. SKY TV didn't 'force' the deal onto anyone and without it the fixtures would have remained in place.

    Thousands?

No doubt it'll be a bit lower but it all feels very over the top proclaiming that somehow a Thursday night game is impossible for thousands of fans to get to.

I very much doubt it would have made any difference if we'd voted against it as it would have been carried by the smaller clubs in each division certainly leagues one and two, Sparks said as a club its not as bigger incentive as the likes of Salford, Bromley Accrington etc.

Yes Thousands. I would have expected a full away allocation and a + 21k crowd had it been on Good Friday. I think we might only see 18k now, which is still fantastic but there is no doubt the gate will take a hit.

Well I don't know about you but I'm more than happy to take everything Ryan Sparks says at face value.

21,000 feels optimistic when we didn't even hit that when we were flying in league one against Sheff Utd and Bolton.

I think the more realistic figure was always closer to the 18,000 which we will hit either way.

I think my comment is true with regards Bradford City, so in this case I believe him.

Maybe the club should do the fiver offer again.. win win for the club if they do this. Sky money plus almost capacity crowd and great atmosphere.
