Same here. I'm 67 now and have never felt comfortable (although I still did it) going to a sporting fixture on Good Friday.

I’ve felt entirely comfortable going to sporting fixtures 7 days a week.

    Supermarkets on a Sunday…pah!

    That's poor!

It should be like the transfer windows. Two windows of opportunity to fiddle around with games and that's your lot.

    Minimum 3 months notice.

Do we know how much the club get paid for it being moved?
Will be a big hit to the finances surely with less tickets sold / merch / drinks etc, not including the businesses which will have been eyeing up the revenue a bank holiday match would bring.

Great school (well it was in very early 80s)
I wouldn't go as far as wearing a t-shirt proclaiming the fact though.

think the notice gets less towards end of season so they can pick important games like those when people can grab promotion or titles rather than picking months in advance and ending up with nothing games

This game was potentially another 20000+ crowd , if there are only say 17000 , SKY should pay you the match fee plus an amount on top to compensate for lost ticket sales bar sales etc 3000 at £30 per person £90,000
That would soon make them think again about messing up thousands of fans plans for the game.
SKY sports are the devil and have done nothing for the game in my eyes.

The EFL signed a 5 year deal worth £935m. It's £895m in cash and £40m in marketing.

The projected split from a site who broke the deal down at the time say the shares of the money per season was this (projected, not confirmed):

    EFL Championship: £133 million
    EFL League One: £27m
    EFL League Two: £19m

Which would give clubs a projected:
EFL Championship: £5.7 million per club per season
    EFL League One: £1.2 million
    EFL League Two: £0.8 million

Which is reportedly a 25% increase from the TV deal previous for L1 & L2 clubs.

If both teams are in the top 3 it’ll still attract 20k or it should.
Bank holiday the day after so no excuse.

Unfortunately city agreed to the deal so that's never going to happen.

I imagine there'll be many Notts fans who are now screwed with train tickets etc.

They've been hit the worst in all this.

The clubs are the ones that voted for the deal which meant more money for them but more games on TV so Sky are only getting what they paid for. For what clubs might miss out on from tickets they will make up for it with the facility fee and increased sponsorship value.

Not necessarily …Most engineering works are on Bank Holidays , stands to reason , less work, less travel.

I wasn't suggesting it was easier, I was adding it in the mix that it wasn't just a normal 3pm on Friday
