Yes they did, but having been at both games I would say the team that beat us last time was a fair bit better than the one last night. Having said that Simpson- Pusey (66) who they got from Huddersfield apparently reminded me a lot of Crichlow, calm class.

I thought their defenders were pretty good tbh. Did you see that run out of his 6 yard area to our penalty box by Alleyne? England u19 player. Jacob Wright and Heskey also caught the eye. As did the lad born in Bradford. Great control for a 16 year old. Despite not scoring, I thought they played good football. The keeper let in two soft goals to flatter the score line.

Just looking at last night team sheet and noticed a young lad from Bradford playing for Man City.

    Number 89 Matthew Henderson-Hall.

    How did he do?

Played well on the left wing. Great close control and touch. Obviously at 16 he's lightweight, and the fact that Oyegoke was man of the match at RB, shows that the kid still has a long way to go.

I grew up with his mum and she is only small as is one of his grandmas. They have took him across the Pennines everyweek for practice etc since he was signed by Man City at an early age and now I think he goes to school over there as part of their academy.

Just shows the difference in the set up between the youth at top end of the PL and us

If he was the left winger then he did very well. All their threat came down their left.

I think he was playing wing back, but many times he overlapped and got into good positions around the box.

Came on as a sub for Haire, too. That 8-minute treble may be our fastest ever -- but as the list shows, I've no idea of the timings for a lot of them.

Pity we went on to lose to Telford in the 3rd round that season.

I agree. They were good on the ball but some of our lads were indecisive. I'd like to think in a real league match a couple of crunching tackles might have made them think twice about doing that so freely!

Their Elite development squad play in European competitions as well as Middle East. Players and families get flown 1st Class and get put up in 5 Star hotels. Lad at Queensbury was with them for best part of 8 years then got jettisoned without a thought....

I’m sure a lot do get let go without a thought as they do seem to hoovering up possible talent from a very early age from a wide area and the trim then year by year.

I've said this on here before.

About six years ago I was teaching a Year 6 class coming up to their SATS. The school had Manchester City coaches providing their PE. In my class was a lad that was a cracking footballer, but Man City decided not to keep him on.

We asked them to delay telling him three weeks, so he could concentrate on his SATs. They refused this and the lad was devastated and without doubt it had a detrimental impact on his SATs performance.

I had a lad with his Grandad who used to come for a kickabout where I coached in around 2017-18, and he was on the books at Man City. I think he was around 14 at the time but can't remember his name at all

Match against Telford, should not have gone ahead, was the pitch not frozen solid.
