Having pace is not enough. His all round play is nowhere near good enough.

 

Far too sloppy and another completely ineffective attacking performance at home. This trend of crap teams on poor runs coming here and winning isn’t a coincidence. Its down to the combination of playing style and players selected to execute that style, and Hughes has proven unable to address it.

 

Does Costelloe have peripheral vision issues?
Constantly seems unable to see players in decent positions and tries to plough his way through.

He’s mobile and a nuisance factor, but otherwise awful whenever he’s near the ball and doesn’t ever look like scoring in a month of Sundays. He’s like a poor mans George Miller, and which is something of an indictment!

 

Sadly one of our better home performances, only difference is we haven’t taken one of our decent chances and they were clinical with theirs.

We don't look a million miles away, but we are seriously lacking pace and width in that midfield. Costello wouldn't get a game at Guiseley but we persist with him

Said it before but a few people had a go, I'm not convinced it's an overly happy camp and he's one that seems to take things that go wrong/against him badly. Let's see if he and the other can turn it around in the second half.
