Any sports person thrives on confidence. So regardless of the standard of last night's opposition, this was a confidence boosting win which we can hopefully start taking forward into the league. If AC' confidence comes back we could be a real handful for anyone. Last night and the 2nd 45 mins at ML on Saturday proved that. Green shoots indeed......

 

Wonder how they decided on the pots? It would appear to have given us a greater chance of a favourable draw.

This is part of the problem as to why we are so crap. We have two left-backs in the club; Gilliead IS NOT a left-back. Pointon isn't a center-midfielder, Chapman isn't an attacking midfielder and Cook alone is pointless when he isn't offering anything at present.

 

It wouldn't surprise or disappoint me to see him between the sticks again on Saturday.

 

Gilleads best performances have come at wingback. Chapman is absolutely an attacking midfielder and Cook was literally the league's top scorer playing as a lone striker last season.

 

I believe 6 of those kids had played for the first 11 this season. Maybe we are underestimating things?

 

Thats wasn’t a contributory factor. He only had two / three saves to make from memory.

 

Really? Hadn't realised that. Either way, it was a good performance and you can only beat what's in front of you.

He didn't need to make more than 2/3 saves, but what he did do was show his fellow defenders how to command his box anything around his area was his something unfortunately Harry hasn't done this season.

 

Aren't there rules about how strong a side you must field?

 

If fit enough Doyler at least has a physical presence in the box and the back 3/4 or 5 will have confidence in him.

 

‘Full Available Strength’ means the EFL Club must include at least four Qualifying Players in the ten outfield Players named in the starting eleven on the Team Sheet.

Qualifying Player means any Player who:

1. had started the immediately preceding First Team Fixture (as defined below);
   
   
2. subsequently starts the immediately following First Team Fixture;
   
   
3. is in the list of ten Players at the Club with the highest number of starting appearances in First Team Fixtures in the same Season;
   
   
4. has made forty or more starting appearances in First Team Fixtures or international equivalents (and not limited to the same Club or Season); or
   
   
5. is on standard loan from a Premier League Club or any EFL Club operating a Category One Academy.
   

 

I don’t think so but if it’s true that 6 have played for the First 11 then surely they are fine anyway?
