It will be interesting to see what team Alexander plays tomorrow and what formation. With most of the players who are needing minutes are wingers I wouldn't be surprised if we went back to 442 with the team looking something like this

    Doyle
    Rowe - Platt - Kelly - Richards
    Chapman - McDonald - Smallwood - Oduor
    Derbyshire - Wilson

As much as we would like to win and get home tie in the next round I can't see many first team players being risked with 2 big games coming up against Accrington and Forest Green. I don't think Jeffrey's will play in this one as the U18's have an FA Youth Cup game against Barnsley on Friday so they will want to rest him for that.

This would be a great game to show how concerned fans are with Rupp's and Sparks' direction of our club. Boycott the game and don't give Sparks your money.

I'm not really sure a Boycott of this does anything as attendances are already very low so the vast majority of people who don't go aren't boycotting the match as they never go to EFL Trophy matches.

The money is also very small, against Man City we got 1750 so that's not even £9000 which will be swallowed up by costs.

A small attendance in this game is easily explained as a tournament that regularly gets low attendances and it is a game that means very little with both teams already qualified.

100% agree. A crowd of less than 100 would really send a massive message to Rupp & Co.

Depends how low though. It really couldn't be explained away if only 90 people turned up.

I would like to see the eleven playing that will play on Saturday.
Get this bunch used to playing on the front foot from minute one and playing to a system.
Sod giving them time off, time to get the finger out and get playing - shape up or ship out!

Yes, it's small beer and would barely scratch the surface of the club's financials. It's little more than a gesture but it's symbolic and would send a message to Sparks in particular that things could get a little worse.

    That's my feeling too.

Frankly, we've been fecking about with permutations of players and systems since August. We need to stop that, get some solidity and confidence in the team and define a playing style that causes problems for the opposition. Albeit it was a dead game after half-time on Saturday, but one can grasp at straws and wonder/hopeif that set-up might be something to build on.

We've qualified. It's a nonsense competition. Nothing to play for, but we're still playing higher level opposition.

Even if we were flying this season, I'd struggle to care about this game.

Win, draw, defeat, no idea really, might as well pull a starting XI from a hat and spin a wheel for the scoreline lol

Doesn't the winner get a home tie in the knock outs Jon?

It won’t matter if everyone boycotts the game.

Less than 202 would be a record low for the competition (excl pandemic seasons)

Fair enough, thought he was still a 2nd year scholar. I'd expect him to play then.

Tough as things are right now I hope the fans who do go tomorrow get behind GA and the team he selects. Turn your heads to the Directors box and give a big thumbs down (and perhaps throw your tennis balls that way! :p)
