Another potential nail in the coffin of the City centre. M&S have announced that they're closing the store in The Broadway.

Started a job on Manningham Lane the other month. I didn't realise how bad it's gotten in and around the area. Had the police in the office checking the CCTV - someone had been stabbed outside the building. People fighting outside the Tesco Express opposite VP, people constantly going through red lights and driving poorly in general, and people chomping on food and throwing their litter straight onto the patch and road.

Nothing beats seeing a woman walking down a side street swinging a dead rat though. What a city.

Many years ago there was a scheme that was going to bring the canal from Shipley along Canal Road via Bolton Road and right into the heart of Bradford City centre, my cousin who worked for Arnold Lavers told me all about the grandeur scheme and how it would have come through Arnold Lavers timber yards, old man Laver was rubbing his hands in anticipation but for whatever reason it did not get off the ground.
We could offer Leeds Road up as Bradfords answer to Santa Pod Raceway, then again you could use many roads in Bradford for that sort of event.

File that under the failed west end where the clowncil compulsory purchased all the properties along the bottom of Thornton road for it to never happen

Ah yes, the 3 mile renewal of the Bradford canal costing many millions leading to precisely nowhere.
Anyone who thought that would actually happen needed their bumps felt.

It’s a proposal at the minute, not a final decision. Although it’s probably inevitable.

which is technically correct, well except it is spelt gora. There is also kala which means black.

if it is abusive and derogatory would depend on what was said with it and how it was said

You should have been an MP Nick, I believe similar word was debated when jihadi was being chanted at the pro Palestinian marches, I think most people who heard it took it to be an offensive chant.

surely that is just the bus drivers taking the piss. Problem is no one will actually complain so no one will talk to the drivers about it

Well I catch the 576 and that's never at the stop that's been designated. I don't expect the driver to tell me 'we just stop anywhere' but then that would explain why the lad in question missed his bus. Doesn't seem to be any sort of organisation or anyone helping out what seems to be quite a lot of confused members of public.

but that is down to the drivers. The buses are allocated stops, yes they have moved but not in the past week or so and even if they had then it is still down to the driver not stopping at the right one.

Two drivers specifically told me they were told to stop anywhere. It's abundantly.clear there is no organisation down there, one of the security team said they'd had numerous complaints over a.perod of weeks but they can't do anything as they don't know themselves.

fair enough then it isn’t the bus drivers but the companies telling the drivers not to follow the agreed plan. Not sure how the blame can be placed at the management of the city centre. They have sorted the right number of bus stops, sorted which buses are stopping at which with WYMetro, advertised them details, again with WYMetro,

the details are all there as the passengers are managing to stand at the bus stops.

only way anything will happen is if enough people complain to the bus companies and WYMetro.
