It's a pity that Bradford Council don't take a similar stance on parking to nearby unlicence wedding venue's

To clarify a point, i'm not disabled and park on Canal Road but it infuriated me when I left the ground and saw all the cars ticketed.
I know blue badge holders are able to park for up to 3 hours however two issues have been pointed out.
One is the cars were parked partially on the pavement and the other in loading lines.

Who the bloody hell loads or unloads at that side of Midland Road there's nothing at that side.

Should the council when laying the pretty yellow lines not have used a bit more paint and marked out designated spaces for the disabled.

There is a parking area below Rock Terrace on Midland Road for disabled and it's actually signed no parking on match day except for disabled.

I just feel gutted for the people who rely on getting as near to the ground as possible.
They have been targeted by Bradford Council in a cynical devious way and it's going to drive people away from our club if it carries on.

I've emailed the club already and they are aware of the problem.

On route to Valley Parade today. Bingley full of traffic wardens. On Bradford Road Shipley, cars double parked in the bus lane...no traffic wardens. Manningham Lane cars parked on double yellows outside wedding venue, takeaways, shops...no traffic wardens. North Parade...traffic wardens. Make of that what you will.

I have made of it what I will....it was a targeted attack on football fans, cheap shot by the council to raise money.

No one has mentioned that the road is actually closed on match days so restrictions shouldn’t even apply as it’s not causing anyone a problem. A cheap shot by the council, very disappointing.

Looks like the council coffers will be swelled and parking warden attendants have gone a long way in reaching targets to justify their existence. It's the way of the world every day you see cars parked illegally and in most cases dangerously/obstructive Every day we see people speeding/driving dangerously and not get caught Like the innocent motorists who get convicted for driving 3 mph over the limit people parking (safely) at major events are "soft targets" ( cash generating opportunities)
It's a sad fact of life and indicative of today's society

I wasn't actually aware I had so many privileges on the road until I read this thread. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, folks. Not to rub it in or anything but doing 50 in a 30 and parking in a space that's most convenient for me even if it's illegal sounds bloody great!

Blue badge holders are allowed to park on double yellow lines but not for more than 3 hours, or within 15 metres of a junction or where there are loading restrictions shown by yellow lines on the kerb or roadside signs. If they complied with those restrictions they should appeal their parking fines.

They haven't had to shell out anything yet and if the council has anything about them they would drop the fines and provide an extra number of disability parking places on Midland Road.
Householders without a drive and holding a blue badge can apply for a parking space outside their home.
So why not provide more spaces for people who are council tax payers.
Midland Road is massively wide at the section under the Midland Road and with the road being closed off (Bradford Council gave permission) how are parking offences measured.
If the road isn't in operation why do parking restrictions still apply.

I don't know anything about crowdfunding accounts and it shouldn't have to come to that.
My beef is with the vindictive nature the council target certain groups of people and it's always the football crowd.
They targeted a rugby game at Keighley a while ago when the Bulls were there, again a premeditated strike on people visiting a certain area at a certain time of day.

I don't really want or need to debate this ......... But a hint might just be a non-presence of Wardens in a 'certain' location, in addition to no visible tickets, on windscreens ? ;)

Sorry you can't figure the answer out yourself. Let me help you.

The wardens are sent to Ilkley by Bradford council to maximise revenues for Bradford council.

    Do you understand now?

Tricky one, but I do wonder if Bradford Council took into account the fact that they might end up ticketing a significant number of blue badge holders?

Arguably, it is the provision of parking for Blue Badge holders which is now inadequate because of various changes in those areas. I question if an Equality Impact Assessment was completed when the changes were brought in.

The council should look into this, with the club working with fans on it.
