What a disgrace of our council to ticket all the blue badge holder parked on Midland Road where new double yellows have appeared.
I'll bet the slimy creeps were hiding around the corner till the game had kicked off.
It's nothing more that a targeted attack on the disabled who can't always park miles away and walk in.

Blue badge holders are allowed to park on double yellow lines but not for more than 3 hours, or within 15 metres of a junction or where there are loading restrictions shown by yellow lines on the kerb or roadside signs. If they complied with those restrictions they should appeal their parking fines.

Not being funny but does a blue badge allow you to park on double yellow lines. On the other side of the argument shouldn't there be a place allowed for you to park nearer the ground.

It would be good to have parking for blue badge holders as close to the ground as possible.

Indeed. And isn't there roadside disabled parking on Midland Road right behind where the MR stand meets the east corner of the Kop? That's pretty close to the ground.

The other side of the road where the yellow lines have recently been painted appeared to have loading restriction 'stripes'.

To clarify a point, i'm not disabled and park on Canal Road but it infuriated me when I left the ground and saw all the cars ticketed.
I know blue badge holders are able to park for up to 3 hours however two issues have been pointed out.
One is the cars were parked partially on the pavement and the other in loading lines.

Who the bloody hell loads or unloads at that side of Midland Road there's nothing at that side.

Should the council when laying the pretty yellow lines not have used a bit more paint and marked out designated spaces for the disabled.

There is a parking area below Rock Terrace on Midland Road for disabled and it's actually signed no parking on match day except for disabled.

I just feel gutted for the people who rely on getting as near to the ground as possible.
They have been targeted by Bradford Council in a cynical devious way and it's going to drive people away from our club if it carries on.

I've emailed the club already and they are aware of the problem.

There are no losing restrictions also.

people with blue badges should know the regulations that apply to them. No one with a blue badge were parked on the new markings behind the Kop, so some took notice

It's a pity that Bradford Council don't take a similar stance on parking to nearby unlicence wedding venue's

It is also a pity that people don’t look at the markings where they park.

if they park illegally then it is at their own risk

quite likely. The local residents probably haven’t complained to their councillors either.

Just to point out it wasn’t just blue badge holders that were targeted. On the corner of Thorncliffe Road and Cliffe Terrace we noticed a couple of cars parked on the new markings before the game and commented that we wondered if they would get tickets. At the end of the game when we passed they had both been issued tickets.

I wasn’t at the last home game so not sure if today was the first match since they started but if so you would have thought warnings could have been given today, with leaflets placed on the cars at last home game with details of the changes so people were aware.

On route to Valley Parade today. Bingley full of traffic wardens. On Bradford Road Shipley, cars double parked in the bus lane...no traffic wardens. Manningham Lane cars parked on double yellows outside wedding venue, takeaways, shops...no traffic wardens. North Parade...traffic wardens. Make of that what you will.

No one has mentioned that the road is actually closed on match days so restrictions shouldn’t even apply as it’s not causing anyone a problem. A cheap shot by the council, very disappointing.

I have made of it what I will....it was a targeted attack on football fans, cheap shot by the council to raise money.

As you say, there is absolutely no need for loading restrictions in that location.

Why dont you set up a crowdfunding account to recompense those that had to shell out to BMDC?
