It was our business in Jan that has cost us!

Hopkin, Rhodes and Rupp should hang their heads in shame. The business in Jan was an utter shambles!

 

Got to start Payne and OB for me. Its up to Bowyer to fit in our best 2 players into a winning formation

Really happy for Blackpool and their fans though, hope they can still reach the Play-Offs and (depending on where we finish) earn promotion.

 

Agreed, the Anderson situation seems like a simple case of a new manager walking in, Anderson maybe being incredibly attentive, trying his best in training, catching the eye, but ultimately he isn't someone who should be playing week in, week out. He's getting the nod, I assume, because of having a good attitude. What else can it be?

Meanwhile, more jaded first teamers aren't getting a look in.

And if my suspicions are correct, this is EXACTLY why it wasn't a great move bringing someone in from the outside to try to 'learn' the squad in a matter of 12 games.

Then again, Drury clearly wasn't the man either...

Let's be honest, it isn't just DREADFUL player recruitment that has been the issue this season, we need to look at the recruitment of staff as well.

 

I think the only reason he plays Anderson is because he is bigger than the rest and we lack physicality. Although still a mystery why he would play in in front of OB. A tired, knackered OB still has more pace and energy than Anderson and Akpan ( although granted Akpan has looked better in his new role )

 

I don't mind him starting with Anderson to help keep it tight early but I wouldn't be putting Billy Clarke in there as well. Start the same formation as Posh game and change it as the game evolves.

Well if Boyer still believes he sees some quality in training..he has to go. No joke, we have found our level.Whatever has to be done has to be done NOW because all hope is gone and the fans have taken enough. Turning this Club around needs stewardship of the highest order and one hell of a commitment from the Owner. Time to find whatever it takes to rip up this squad, they have dishonoured the Club and the shirt they wear.

Correct. We needed a target man and a creative winger in addition to keeping Payne and OB.
Rahic started the problem last January and the above finished it this January.

What we need to hear now is promises to put it right this coming summer to at least put us back to league 1 level at the first attempt.
Only then will they have a chance of selling a decent amount of season tickets.

 

I remember those comments well, from the usual sources. Even now those same sources will be adamant he is just as good, 'just needs a good pre season'.

 

Not sure that comment is true, once Rupp found out what was happening at the club Julian was brought back because Rupp needed someone on the inside who he could trust ( that says a lot for the guy who he ultimatly replaced was pushed out into the cold) I was ridiculed by a few on here telling me Julian was brought onboard to help Rahic.
It really is laughable when you look back and think Rahic would take advice from anyone " he knew football" once Julian was brought in Rahic knew it was the end, now the likes of Julian and others are trying to sort the mess Rahic left and your calling Juilan Rhodes out because he offered his services, possibly for free but I can't confirm that.

 

You make some excellent points that I fully agree with. I do however think that the very least we could and should expect from every single one of them is 100% effort in every game. They should be showing that they care, if not for their devotion to City then because of professional pride.

I was pleased to see some fans cheering, albeit it sarcastically, every time Wright touched the ball to drown out the morons who booed him - we need to lick our wounds and realise worse things happen

I also thought Bowyer's after match comments were the best in years. It was similar to when Parky's team lost 5-0 at Hartlepool (or whatever it was). Without ever losing it in the interview, you could tell the Bowyer was absolutely aghast at the last 30 minutes

He's the right man for the job and with the wonderful benefit of hindsight we should have got him after Collins went. His taking off Payne was exactly the correct thing to do. Payne posed around for 45 minutes, in that 'I won't be here neat season' way you get with some at this time of year - well done for hauling him off

Before, people defend Payne -I did a few weeks ago, but the reality is he's done nothing since his been found out and hence more tightly marked. Clearly he's not as good as we thought he was
