Wrexham 'should have beaten billion-pound Chelsea' - Parkinson

I just read this on BBC and thought that well, if you had had John Stead playing, you might have.
Got me wondering what the best individual performance by a City player was. Now I recognise it’s a team sport but for me as excellent as we were, John Stead was simply unreal that day. The footwork to set up Yeates for 4-2 was taking the piss given the opposition. Just my thoughts.

(if there has already been a thread done on this, feel free to delete).

Robbie Blake away at Sheff Utd in the 98/99 promotion season always comes to mind.

Don't think I'll ever see an individual performance like it again, especially against such opposition.

Aidan Davison away at Spurs in the Premiership. 1-1 draw, we would’ve got beaten 10-1 if it wasn’t for him.

Peter Beagrie in a 2-1 win against Barnsley - he was unplayable. Same game Watson came off bench and scored late winner.

Stead at Chelsea was exceptional but one I remember was Leigh Palin in 1987 against Middlesbrough, he was sensational as was the team and he scored a great goal in a 2-0 win. One of City’s best ever performances.

Leigh Palin was excellent for us possibly the most underrated player to pull on the shirt
I remember that Middlesbrough game he totally bossed it
Other than Stead at Chelsea I remember a night match at the valley" Big Sticks" on the wing totally destroying a highly rated Oldham side not sure of the season

Considering the quality of the opposition,it has to be Jon Stead at Chelsea.

As crap set pieces seems to rear its head every match over the last few seasons one individual performance springs to mind.

Waddle v Huddersfield on Sky on a Friday night in
    1996.
3 corners resulted in 1 going straight in.
1 header by Dreyer going in and a third lead to a Steiner goal.

Unfortunately after being 3-0 up in no time against one of our biggest rivals ( I hate them more than Leeds) we were pegged back to 3-3.
One of my all time favourite games and also one of the worst I’ve ever felt after being 3 up.

Waddle in a baggy Diamond seal shirt is also one of my favourite city images.

Was that the cup replay when we beat them 5-1 on an ice-rink? 1986 I think?

    Could well be
Something in the back of my mind we had just changed managers and they put Sticks on the wing probably for the 1st time all a bit hazy am afraid

A player now with his natural ability and age on his side would be worth £100m.

I really enjoyed watching Blake. He had so much natural ability and with his low centre of gravity, could twist and turn opposition players inside out.

Yes wasn't we 5 up at halftime? As I recall Terry Dolan had just taken over from Trevor Cherry
