Plenty of games you could pick out the big one for me was the Crawley home game winning 2-1 before that almighty collapse

Wow! All we could have asked was to take it to the last day and we’ve done it.

Great composure from Smith. For the stick he’s had about finishing give the lad credit, he’s finished that well.

Another one deserving credit for tonight is Smallwood - clear MotM for me.

Its the hope that kills you. I'd far rather have some chance than none, and the players deserve a lot of credit for their recent performances, I just don't see it. I can see us beating Newport, but we need Crawley to not win and Barrow to lose. Too many variables needing to go our way.

    Especially now given the table.
2-2 at 95 mins and 2-4 in the end. If we'd seen the draw out we'd be a pt better off and Crawley less 2. But there are a plethora of games you can mention to be fair this season

I've given Smallwood stick, but if you keep him off Set pieces, put a quality midfielder who can create next to him, and the energy and quality of Pointon too, then Smallwood is fine at just being that deep lying holding midfielder. What he isn't, is a playmaker.

Agree with your last line. Losing at Sutton, early season, is another.

Crawley are very poor hit and miss at home - tend to lose games that they're not expected too.

But I'd be amazed if we end uo 7th.

What may ultimately cost us is simply not scoring enough goals.
57 in 45 games is just poor.

The top 6 teams have scored 95,89,87,79,71and 68.
Defensively we’ve not been too bad but goals win you games and we just haven’t got enough to turn a few of our 12 draws in to wins.

LOL!! I was thinking about that. But I think Mansfield will win at Barrow.

The problem is Crawley at home to an admittedly on form, but crucially safe, Grimsby.

Agree. But goal aside I thought Pointon was average tonight. But who cares, cracking finish and we live to look forward to the last game of the season.

Hard to see how Barrow get a win against Mansfield with their recent form and how they've thrown away 4 points in the last 2 games. I think the danger is Crawley vs Grimsby as I don't fancy Grimsby to be able to get anything, only hope is that away from home they've draw 11 so they don't win many but they avoid losing often.

Agree, we need more firepower. I think we need more quality at the back, and at least one more quality midfielder adding too. This squad needs a fair bit of rework for next season, whatever happens.

Need to start Saturday's game like we did in the reverse fixture as it could come down to goal difference. Newport seem to have gone on their holidays losing their last 7, just hope they stay on the beach.
