I'm not overly concerned although can understand some of the comments considering how shit we've been for years.

Today was a bit of a strange one. Had all the control until the first goal and Barrow couldn't really get a foot in the game. Having said that, we created absolutely nothing. Walker is a huge miss. Without him there's nothing in the centre of the park. Gilliead and East aren't creating anything. Ended up being sideways and backwards for the most part because until Young came on we haven't got a wide man who wants to drive at his fullback.

On Oliver, apparently he's a striker who thrives off crosses into the box yet I can't remember a cross coming in from open play all game.

I'm more disappointed because we seem to have gone backwards a little bit since last season. Vernam and Pereira have gone and we're missing everything they gave to the team which in turn means the style is less effective. We pass the ball well for two thirds of the pitch then its all a bit of a mess in the final third.

Desperate for some width and with the current injury situation that's only going to be rectified in the transfer market.

Speaking TOTALLY as a Fan, Jon, I agree. I was right behind the Barrow bench and they targetted our left side most of the second half. I don't agree about the first goal, great shot right in the bottom corner, we would have been purring with a goal like that.
Do agre with the second and third, we got pressured and didn't cope well but that third goal!! Having got ourselves level (Cook and Young made the difference), well into added time surely the last thing you do is give a free kick away on the wide touch line only 15 metres in your own half, just close the guy down, even give a throw in away. In a crowded box with Barrow going for it anything can happen and it did.
Only two games, played some good stuff first half, up to speed and we will do well.

Teams will always raise their game against us. Ex PL club, stadium. 17k fans. Act cocky before a ball is kicked but own fu@k all.

Players, fans and owners of other clubs would always want to take us down.

If you bother to read it correctly I don't actually quote you individually regarding hoofball l, I merely use your post outlining Parky as an example where folk think all you have to do is 'give 100% for the shirt and run around a lot' and 'be more physical'. If you interpreted my post as pinpointing you I apologise. There are still folk on here who, after two game of the season, are already clamouring for their comfort blanket of 4-4-2 and more physicality. For crying out loud can we give Hughes some time to implement his ideas and get a team to play the way he wants? I agree yesterday wasnt good and it looks like we still lack certain positional talent. But some of the stuff I've read after two games, Jesus wept

Not one major high street chains own their shops. They are all rented from property developers.
Remember why lots are going bust??? Their landlords WONT reduce their rents!
I thought a businessman would know such facts??

The way city are implementing this possession football is an opposition dream. Slow side to side and back again with no cutting edge passing gives defenders plenty of time to organise and crosses coming in fro far to deep makes it easy to defend.
The whole tempo needs speeding up with occasional balls down the channels like the one that brought our second goal.
A couple of new faces needed because of the injuries and a tweet to the tactics to make us less predictable. Hopefully we will see a difference soon

He's a pragmatic man, he knows what he's witnessing and what he wants, and I'm pretty convinced he knows how to get there, too.

Nothing's certain in love or war (or football), but where previous managers have 'sounded' clever (ie, Adams) and won people over, I think this is the first time I've ever listened to a City manager from the get-go and thought 'this guy will get the job done'.

Top 7 for me this season, don't have any doubts about it.

Very early days, but the 2 games so far have me worried. I can't fathom at all what Hughes is trying to do with the sides he's picked.

    Same old City really.

Gilliead has a role next to Smallwood but absolutely nowhere else. He played in two attacking positions today and contributed nothing as per usual. As for Sutton, I really cannot understand why he was given a new deal.

It’s all well and good playing possession football, but it’s all in front of the defence and easy to deal with. We must up the tempo if we’re to get anything out of games. I’m cheesed off with the result but happy in the knowledge that a regular starting 11 will fall out of squad (fitness allowing) and we’ll start getting at teams.

I think I’d look at starting Songo’O alongside Smallwood for the next game and leave Gilliead in the changing room.

What's baffling is how it keeps happening, despite complete overhauls of personnel in terms of management and players.

Aren't you doing exactly what I've highlighted to Lewis, because fans who'd seen ROD over 3 years didn't feel he was good enough?

Lewis has only played 2 league games for us, surely we shouldn't be mullering anyone this early in the season, with a team of almost complete strangers (playing together wise) still trying to gel.

I know we're all disappointed with the result yesterday, but let's not revert to type and hound players into their shells.

The lower divisions are about pace and work rate not about faffing about making meaningless passes that get you nowhere,

Just watched the highlights. The defending is criminal, after 5 years of shite it’s getting very very tedious is all this.

There are many successful businesses in the world where the owners don’t own the premises they operate from, nor do they own the staff and in many cases now don’t even own the equipment they need to run their business.
Yes there’s costs to be saved by owning things but do you honestly believe if Bradford City owned VP that we’d have made different signings this summer ?

Thats why it is so irritating Harratt getting a foolish red and a 3 match ban. I think he is that different striker we need

Good to hear him not sugarcoat what was a poor disjointed performance. He ain't daft enough to think that the squad would just click. Plenty to work on for him and Hodges.
