That was an excellent performance, only disappointment was when Cook after such good play blasted over from 2 yards when he could have toe poked it in, well done lads, all of you....

 

After criticism of Adams recently praise is due today he did what he should have done starting from second half against Bristol which was bring Canavan with a much improved Songo’o in front of back 4 best win of season.

I think that's at least three times where Robinson has come on and got a shot on goal pretty much straight away

Semantics. We played two out and out strikers which gave us more goal threat. Also meant Cook wasn't isolated with two centre backs.

 

I've only missed one away game (Newport County due to work), forgotten how much I enjoy the away days.
The security staff were funny at Swindon. After the game a few City fans were walking across the car park singing "Bradford Boys we are woh, woh, s**g your women and drink your beer" this big burly bearded security guy started laughing and said in a West Country accent "well you'll find our beer alright, not so sure about the women"

 

It's a tough listen these days, and then we've got Andy Kiwomya to contend with. When we last won (can't even remember who it was), I understand he said the result would "reverberate around the world". Then we'll have Derek coming on saying how we dominated a game we lost 3-1. I think I'll go for a walk in the rain.

 

If we play like we did on Tuesday and you play to your best I can see at least a 5-0 hammering of us. Morale is low in the squad right now and our manager seems to be watching a completely different game when given interviews. Apparently we played well against Hartlepool. A team who hadn't scored away from home in over 8 hours ( 5 and a bit games) and they easily beat us 3-1 and it could have been more. Yeah we absolutely played well.

Great win much better, but for a cheap penalty they offered nothing against us other than keeping loads of ball. Should have scored more with Cook missing a sitter. I said after Rochdale though can’t get carried away, as this is an inconsistent team enjoy games like this because still more like Hartlepool to come.

 

We were the best team, by a country mile...

 

Parking the bus is winning by a goal, we could have had 4 or 5 today. For all the possession Swindon had we were the only team who looked likely to score. That was the performance of the season so far.

 

Exactly what got Morecambe promoted

 

Thought it was a solid defensive away performance today against a good team who were totally unable to break us down despite having the lions share of possession. We've missed Canavan at the back really pleased to see him back in the team. Should really have been 4 or 5 nil Adams got it spot on today. Please to see Lavery and Theo get off the mark let's hope that gives them confidence and they can kick on.

 

Completely agree, one result doesn't paper over our inadequacies. Thing that pleases me most is seeing both Robinson and Lavery score. Robinson especially due to the comments posted on the likes of here. First time the bloody manager has given Lavery a start and he has a good game.

I think some people are struggling to read English. My comments on this thread are based on today's performance and that alone. Not what anyone's respective place in the table is.
Today we were the better side. None of this parking the bus bollocks. We nullified an attacking side and created numerous chances of which we took three. They created pretty much next to nothing. Do note that makes no difference to next week which we might lose 4 nil.

I think like someone alluded to in the Hartlepool thread, for teams such as Hartlepool et al these kind of trips for games at this level are around as high as they've been competing in for many-a-year, they've been playing at this or lower levels so it's a similar comparison to when we were pushing at the top end of League One.

If we were around the League One play offs, and not mid-table League Two, we would be taking 1500/2000 to these kinds of away games, as we did when we were at that level.

Hartlepool probably took half of what they brought to us to similar distance trips in the National League for example.
