I’m going to be blunt on this one, the older I get the less I can be ars*d to go to matches, I just don’t want to spend my weekend travelling, dedicating my two precious off days to football, in fact it’s worse than that, I can’t be ars*d going to VP on a weekday night or even a Saturday if it’s cold and rainy. When I was younger I’d go home and away, my son has taken up the family mantle & went to Swindon as he does most away matches, but and I can’t stress this enough, I buy my season ticket i spend money at the club shop, but I just don’t want to go all the time.......
I might be a fair weather fan BUT........
I’d pay full ticket price for away I-follow, I’d pay a tenner per game on top of my season ticket to watch matches when it’s cold and rainy. Not having I-Follow doesn’t mean I’ll turn up desperate for my City fix, it means I have to put up with AK on radio Leeds (minimal income for the club)!
I get some peoples fears but I can only see I-follow as a massive revenue stream, I don’t see any downside, if any on here or the league want a steer they only have to look at how sky TV revolutionised the premiership. Income through the roof as are attendance figures.
To reiterate.......if i-follow is available I’ll spend additional money on it, not having it won’t make me attend any more home or away.

 

Well after all the stick we gave them on Tuesday, and rightly so, credit to Adams and the lads for that performance today.

Good to see 3 players scoring their first goals of the season.

Even better to get a comfortable win playing a formation that we have not done so well with in the past.

 

Give the lad some credit, he actually spots the keepers position and deliberately goes for the lobbed shot. He's been getting a lot of stick when doing little wrong in the little time he's been afforded. Hope he bangs a few more in.

 

Why have you never mentioned these concerns before now Fordy?

 

I don't think he was offside if their player did not have permission to leave the field. It's not clear to me that he did (for treatment for example). Otherwise players would be wandering off the pitch all the time to deliberately provoke an offside. So good goal for me.

 

Is Swindon’s lousy home record as lousy as Hartlepool’s away record was before Tuesday night?

 

Same team, same tactics, another defeat, Adams can't be blamed at all.

 

How was it a fluke ? He took the shot and it went where he meant ot to go. Not a fluke at all .

 

I was really pissed off Tuesday night, not only after watching the 'performance' against Hartlepool, but also that I'd just ordered tickets for Swindon earlier that day.

However I'm already now looking forward to tomorrow. Its like an addiction isn't it?...lucky for Sparks and City, otherwise we wouldn't keep doing this year after year!

 

Let's give Robinson the benefit of the doubt until he's had a couple of 90 minute games. 20 minutes here or there is not going to get anything out of a player.

 

Great win. Defensively excellent, Swindon didn't have a clue. Shame we didn't get the clean sheet that we deserved.

 

Yes we have a great fan base and it's been discussed many times, ie would it be 15/16,000 if we paid the same as a Newport fan £315, I very much doubt it.
And as been quoted our resent poor forum and lack of points has input into how many fans make the call with regards away games, I personally think anyone who travels 400 miles plus to watch us after what we saw on Tuesday night deserves a medal certainly not criticism, especially from a fan who comments he does not attend away games, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one @Bantam Begins.

Well guys/gals as Im away at one of our 60s weekends I've not bothered getting involved in posting/ replying but reading several pages on this thread I'll just say "football manager" has lot to answer for, for Christ sake we've just seen Hartlepool pull our pants down and spanked our arses 5 days ago, today was great result Swindon getting away lightly lets just enjoy the result.

A defending player who leaves the field of play without the referee’s permission shall be considered to be on the goal line or touchline for the purposes of offside until the next stoppage in play or until the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line and it is outside its penalty area. If the player left the field of play deliberately, the player must be cautioned when the ball is next out of play.

 

450 is a good following after Tuesday night was there that many left n the ground at full time

I normally go to pretty much every away match but I haven't been to an away match at all this season. All due to the pandemic. I normally go by coach, the away crowds are much more boisterous than the back of A block in the Midland Road and I am vulnerable to the virus for several reasons. I can't be the only one avoiding away matches given the current rates of infection. I had hoped I would be back by now, but not for me at the moment.
