Win our games in hand and we’d go 3 points clear at the top, not bad all in all.

A cold Tuesday night in Colchester what's not to love about that.
Fordy will see this as another failure by the club by getting a fixture congestion later in the season.Fordy117 likes this. -

Like most posters on here, really pissed off with this, I was planning a week away with the missus taking in the Colchester game, a few days in the Isle of Wight then down to Devon for the Plymouth game.
All out of the window now because of a few 2 bit waste of time friendlies.
Just glad I had delayed my bookings for various hotels and ferries.Bronco likes this. -

Yes and I have been in touch with both the EFL and Colchester regarding the timings of asking for a cancellations of fixtures EFL could not give a shit they said we can cancel games on the day if required in other words supporters are none existent, Colchester not much better there answer is well you can come when it’s rearranged. I just hope that it’s single figures that turn out at Colchester from the City supporters no way will I visit this club again not for the rules that allow them to do this but they will have known for weeks about these players having international commitments and should have given some indication as the possibility of the game being cancelled long before now.

Brilliant news. Hotel and train tickets down the pan.
Best way to repay Colchester is get your game tickets money back and boycott the night fixture. only 100 or so hard core city fans will turn up. Major loss of revenue for Colchester.olivermac likes this. -

Think it's something that has been addressed before when Wolves or Blackburn were in L1 and they had postponements a every time their season. Bigger EFL clubs wanted the schedule to match PL & CH with the weekend off, smaller clubs wanted them to still go ahead as it potentially would be damaging financially as this thread has shown, many fans would be up for a Saturday away trip compared to a Tuesday night game, meaning less money at the doors.Dennis likes this. -

Following an OFT (Office of Fair Trading) ruling in 2008 (https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/dec/05/tottenham-hotspur-ticket-refunds-oft), and to comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, it was made clear that clubs cannot refuse refunds, in respect of postponed matches, nor should they try and attach such conditions to the sale of tickets.
Having said that, and despite it being 11 years since the OFT decision, and 4 years since the Consumer Rights Act came into force, it seems that some clubs have still not got the message.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bigrod likes this. -

Colchester knew exactly how to milk the system selling game tickets at reduced cost well in advance with increasing up to the same day purchase they would then hope that all those that have purchased tickets will still attend the midweek game rather than get rebates which everyone is entitled to, I would sincerely hope that those that purchased a ticket Pop down to VP and get a refund forget about Colchester, as one previous post said boycott them they will soon get the message, clubs like BCFC have a fantastic away support and should treated with respect like most clubs did in div one, but if this is the way that div two is shaping up I can see many problems ahead.bantamlad92 likes this. -

I just don't understand their motivation. Surely it's better to get the game played and avoid a spring fixture pile up than postpone because three players who are on the fringes of their squad aren't available.Jayteebee likes this. -
To me the most shocking thing is learning Montserrat have a FIFA football team. Had to google it. Population 5,900 Thats half the size of Otley.

If you look around league 1 has 4 matches off and league 2 now has 2 matches off due to internationals so it shows most, if not all, club who are eligible to postpone a match take the offer. Got to remember as well a lot of clubs at this level don't have big squads and certainly don't have the strength in depth we do so for some clubs 4 or 5 players missing hits them just as bad as 10 players out does to us.Offcomedun likes this. -
If City are knocked out by Shrewsbury we
could play Macclesfield or Colchester on Saturday 30th November if either of them are knocked out of the cup.Bronco likes this. -

Harriott played 85 minutes and scored a goal for Guyana.
There is a feed in Spanish from El Salvador which suggests that Comley was in the starting 11. https://us.as.com/us/2019/11/17/futbol/1573951856_841232.htmlJayteebee likes this. -
Rescheduled for Tuesday 21st Jan
Absolute p!ss take. Macc game should've stayed tonight, and the Colchester game rescheduled for this Saturday (as Colchester don't have a cup game either)
