I empathise with a lot of what you're saying. It is getting harder to stay positive. The way to turn this ship around is to bring quality into the building and get some momentum on the pitch. Winning breeds confidence for the players, but I don't think they believe they can win. Unless we score very late in the game to go ahead, or score 2 without reply I don't think they have the mentality to hold on. Some of the breakaway goals we concede are criminal and remind me of the early days of McCall. For this I blame Adams. We have no pace at the back yet we're often left with one player holding the fort. Up front I'm not sure where the goals are going to come from. Robinson certainly won't provide them. He's poor as a lone striker and seems incapable of looking across the line. Angol may as well pack in, which is a shame because he's way above anything we've had in a while, but can't be relied upon. Lavery has had one good game and is now prone to injury.

We seem to be entering another January transfer window needing 4 or 5 first team players and needing to shift a similar amount in the process. The only way to avoid this is to stick with the manager and allow him to build his team. Changing again will only bring the same results we've seen over the last 4 seasons. I've not given up hope yet, but I'm preparing myself for another season of disappointment.

 

Without a suitable replacement I think we're probably with the best option right now. We need to bite the bullet and stick at some point. He won't take us down so where better to start than a manager with promotions littered across his CV. Hang in there @Bantamsteve

Read the article again Broncs, it's pretty clear that it's saying Cook is the only one out injured. He's not coming back anytime this side of Carlisle away, bench or otherwise. The comment "we are just going to have Andy Cook" is in relation to the treatment room being a lonely place, and insinuates that it is just Cook left in there.

Well from what I read in the article, quoting DA, I would say the Yorkshire Post have completely put the wrong caption on the photo. We'll see when the team comes out, but I'd put my mortgage on Cook not being in it or on the bench.

I hope I'm wrong.

 

Tranmere have scored 13 and conceded 13 in 17 and not scored in 9 of those 17 games so I'm not expecting a 5-4 goal fest like in 2004.
1- 0 either way seems most likely.

It feels like a decent team to me based on what's available.

Angol has been our liveliest striker but Lavery has shown in the few games he's played that he may have something about him.

Thankfully Sutton is back to give us some energy.
