I work on nights in North Wales during the week so not a million miles away from me.
Other lads have agreed they can manage without me tonight so I’m making the short journey down the A55/M53 to Birkenhead tonight for my first away game of the season.

 

Are we still top of the XG league though?

 

Even an optimistic fan such as I am is beginning to despair now, seeing us fall further behind the footballing giants of Harrogate and Sutton Utd, embarrassing really

 

There is no doubt that Adams has been a massive disappointment so far -- but there is also no doubt some of our players are simply not good enough, have no winning mentality and not enough heart. You cannot coach that, I have no problem with Adams stating what everyone of us can clearly see.

Getting rid of Adams now does not solve this problem, we would still be stuck with these so called footballers. But he has to ensure we are not adrift come January or the pressure is going to be unbearable and the atmosphere turning toxic again.

Adams setting up 5-4-1 against one of the lowest scorers in the division is the exact reason I never wanted him here in the first place. Negative, risk averse and boring football that does not work at this football club.

Losing the game and his substitutions are like for like. Gilliead comes on and offers nothing whilst the most creative player in the division is sat on the bench. Why?

Eisa coming on to play upfront when he's a LW. Why?

Stoppage time, lumping the ball forwards and we've not thrown a CB forwards despite not having a single player who can contest for, let alone win a header upfront. Why?

Stop making excuses for him. His tactics are appaling.

 

The problem , in my mind at least, is easy to identify, no one gives a shit.

The manager is so passive during the game and in his interviews it's unbelievable. We as fans are tearing our hair out during games whereas he is stood, arms folded on the side.

The CEO who got fans to part with extra cash based on false promises has now vanished. He has spoke many times about "after he has gone" , he ain't he for the long run, he is here for himself no one else.

The owner , has he ever bothered, I can excuse him missing a certain period when travel was restricted, but if he cared he'd be here wanting answers. Instead he is taking the small profit the club takes annually, whilst it falls apart beneath him.

How many players give a toss? I'd argue one maybe two, the rest aren't overly bothered or at least don't show it. They put nothing in during games, after the games they just trudge off. There is no hurt, there is no pride, it's just a wage to them. Gone are the days of players who used to run through walls for us.

No one on the playing staff, coaching staff or board level has any affinity for this club what so ever. Us fans are the only ones who give a damn, it's merely a job to the rest of them. how do we change it, I'm not sure, but for one I'm absolutely sick of it. If this was April I'd be genuinely contemplating not getting another season ticket. There is nothing there to get behind anymore, the passion has gone, the enjoyment certainly has, just years of being beaten down and I've had my fill unfortunately.

I'm not sure how it changes, it's not a quick fix for sure. I'm not sure it changes at all with the current incumbents from top to bottom. It's a mess, sparks spoke the other day about an oil tanker slowly turning. I'm sorry mate this ain't a tanker it's an abandoned ship.

The foolish strategy of signing injury prone players like Angol and Lavery is showing the recruitment for what is was at the beginning of the season - poor and the tightening of the purse strings. This was despite getting the supporters to stump up more cash via the season tickets and some of the bigger earners gone.

 

2 wins since August is a shocking statistic for a side with aspirations of promotion.

to have even the slightest chance of promotion this season, City would need to sign a player in each of those positions. Lets be honest that ain’t gonna happen.

O’Donnell - Provides the defence with no confidence. Gets beaten from range an to his near post too often. Never commands his 6 yard box, draws more pressure to the already shaky defence

Threlkeld - Ain't good enough. Hasn’t had one good game in a city shirt an FCD isn’t ready just yet to be playing week in week out

Paudie - Slow, Rash in the tackle, Poor decision making. If he ain’t improving his displays now, he never will. Has been at the same level for the past 2 seasons.

Watt - Needs to go. Doesn’t fit the system, can’t pass to a man 10 yards away. Needs to leave for his own good

Gilliead - Useless

Kelleher - Ditto

Robinson - Not good enough. A reason Port Vale wanted to get rid so badly

Lavery - Always Injured. 1 good game in 5

Angol - Probably one of the best players we have but it appears that he’l only play 15 games this season max.


Jury is still out on Foulds, FCD & Eisa


Ridehalgh, Cooke, Canavan, Songo’o, Sutton, Vernam, Cook - Those players are good enough for a promotion push. But they look like shit because they are surrounded by shit.

Sparks an Adams may of thrown Turnbull under the bus for the shit show we witnessed in the Summer, but its their asses on the line now in January. Adams has his own Scouting system in place, An Sparks better have the funds ready to sign some players because if he doesn't, Things are gonna turn very toxic an I don’t see City selling season tickets in the 5 figures any time soon again if this season isn’t saved.

 

That second half performance was dreadful.

 

That's rich considering he signed players who weren't good enough for Scunthorpe, Tranmere, Walsall, Port Vale and Salford.

Oh and National League Wrexham.

 

We really are in a bad way if the most optimistic poster on here has zero positivity left.

 

Usually I’m quick to comment after a game win or lose but that second half was truly depressing and sapped the little enthusiasm I had left for the season, year on year we hope for better but it doesn’t arrive. We are truly broken and have been for a long time, unfortunately until a new owner with a vision comes along I don’t see an upturn.
