    How would you line up for this one on Saturday then?

    Lee Novak and Levi Sutton return to their old club......

    Looks the first of three 'six pointers' this month as the table is looking very tight at the bottom and we've got Southend away and Barrow at home coming up as well before the month is out, along with tricky fixtures vs Crawley and Cambridge, both of whom are sat in the playoffs as things stand.

    Scunthorpe have signed former Reading midfield Jem Karacan after a period training with the club since November. He was in the Aussie A-League before that.

    They lost 3-1 at Stevenage last weekend, having taking a fifth minute lead. Our old man Oteh scored in time added on in that game.

    In terms of home form, Scunny have the fifth worst home record in the division: 3-2-5, 10 GF and 17 GA.

    We have the same W-D-L stats away and the sixth worst away record (10 GF, 14 GA).

    Has the look of a draw to me........

    Three massive games coming up this month, starting with Saturday's visit to Scunny. Mansfield's win mid-week means the gap we'd built up from the bottom two places has been cut to just three points. Southend and Stevenage, who a few weeks looked dead and buried have started to put runs together, which has squeezed things down at the bottom.

    I just hope the cancelled Morecambe game hasn't de-railed the momentum we'd built up in recent weeks.

    Karacan has not played a competitive game since April 2019 and has not had a club since July 2019, then it was an Australian side. He may well be a decent player, but I would be amazed if he were fit enough to play, a few days after signing, on a decidedly cold day in January 2021.

    As per my OP, he’s been training with the club since November. Whether he’s fit yet, though, not sure.

    Agreed. Same thing happened with Hopkin after abandonments. Let’s hope it has freshened this lot up though.

    The start of a very big month for us both on and off the pitch.
    5 games. 3 against teams below us in the league and in the relegation fight. 2 against teams in the playoffs.
    This month will very much determine how the rest of our season will go and that ranges all the way from relegation fight to outside playoff contenders.

    Scunthorpe aren't in great form and we really need a win here, but most of their games are only 1 goal in it so expect it to be tight. Play like we have over the last 5 and we should edge it.

    Karacan had a trial at Wycombe but seemingly didn't earn himself a contract, but he's been in training with Scunthorpe for six weeks now.

    Jamie Raynor has confirmed Stevens has signed in time to be eligible tomorrow. Sounds like he's fit, albeit won't have worked with the lads. Comes in for Clarke or starts on the bench with the game coming so soon?
