As did the moment of shear madness from Songo to give Vale their only goal, I posted early doors we shouldn't be frightened of this lot they looked average, you seem to be unable to give credit where it's due, was it only disjointed from Bradford City, today we stopped Port Vale playing their usual game, with their home record they have certainly bossed most home games this season.
@Alan Partridge started his post with this : Pretty crap overall from the Vale, the occasion clearly got to us. Adams had set up perfectly to stop us playing, little time and space for our central three to find the space they need, but on top of that excellent tactical set up we were uncharacteristically shit really. Almost played you in a few times! Nervy, timid, resorting to hoof ball, passing all over the place, including straight to you for the equaliser. Not what we've been used to seeing, really uncharacteristic, really frustrating.
I think that's a fair assessment of the game all round not a classic but we've taken point from the form team in the division at their place as well.

Good point at a difficult venue that has a huge pitch to cover, having said that we need goalscorers in the team, Players such as Gillead and to some extent Vernon who just cannot score the chances created need to be replaced in January.
Will be good to get Cook and Angol in the team together as wellvladimir, Craven Koppite, Bronco and 2 others like this. -

Hopefully returning injured players will relegate gilliead to the bench, and keep Evans there.
Recent results show we aren't far off clicking. A 10% improvement in the next third and a further 10% in the last third will give us early 70s points and at least the playoffs.

Robinson took stick when he was playing as in all honesty he couldn't hit a barn door. Lazy was a word often used in post match criticism by some. It was the same for his first spell with us in 2015 and the same when he signed in 2020. You can imagine the let down when we had Maynard and Jamille Matt in the building negotiating deals and ending up with a player who'd already been a massive disappointment for us.
Clarke wanted to release him in the summer, but he still had a year left, so Theo was one of three players removed from the first team in training. There was nothing nasty about it, no singling out, no trying to force him out, it was strictly professional. In fact one of those other three Scott Burgess, who is still in that position at Vale, can be seen in the manager of the month press photo smiling behind Clarke so that should say something about how the situational was handled.
Theo wasn't really getting stick when training with the youth team as he would never actually come into contact with fans, we haven't seen him since the last game of the season.
I and I expect the rest of us have no issue with him personally, he was never a troublemaker or anything, no problems whatsoever, he was just a really ineffectual signing for us on two separate occasions who by all accounts was also on a very good contract the second time around which further compounded frustrations with him and John Askey who signed him.
I'm expecting a tough game tomorrow and let's hope no one has to notice the referee for once.

To use a fordy word or two, gillead is utter shite, how he gets in week in week out amazes me.
The less said about Threkald the better.

And Ryan Lowe for Plymouth in his first dozen or so matches
We could sack Adams and get yet another manager in, as that's worked out well in the last four years (McCall, Grayson, Colins, Hopking, Bowyer, McCall (part 3!!), Truman & Co!!)Inspector, XCIV_Bantam, WilsdenBantam and 1 other person like this. -
Content with a point away against the second in the league. No problem with the result. A tough game with chances for both teams. Come back from one down!
It is where we go from here. Northampton at home, is going to be tough. They are third as l type. We need to get a victory (read that @Fordy117), time to start pushing forward.Bantam Boy, Stoneski, Bronco and 1 other person like this. -

More then happy with today’s result yes a win would have been great yes some sloppy play . Angol coming of the bench scoring with a cracking header really lifted me I thought today’s performance was okay R.O.D pulled off some good saves and we dealt with Vale well at times. I can’t really criticise the lads hopefully we’ll get a fit squad and “ Move on Up “
