    I'll kick it off then.
With Cooke and Novak playing could we possibly have a better game?

It's like we knew we wouldn't do anything this season all along and started playing the kids from game week 1 :joy:

Having listened to the press conference with Mark Trueman the formation is likely to change to 442 or 433. It may even feature Cook and Novak together at some time.

Tough game already this. If we play 442 we will be overrun in midfield 433 is basically the same as we play now. It’s about reward and risk most people on here only see the reward

Some Teams have three or four in midfield which usually leads to bypassing and playing long when 442 is used. It’s an out of date way of playing but popular with fans who like wing play

Just how I feel. They talk about experimenting when we should have at least had a go when the chance was there. What happens if we suddenly put 3 past Port Vale having played 2 up front....too little too late.

Predictability and rigidity are typically the problems associated with a 4-4-2, as is the enormous pressure on the central midfielders to both attack and defend constantly. The formation has been around for so long that any number of ways to overcome it have been developed, a task made particularly easy if the wide players in a 4-4-2 lack discipline when it comes to their defensive duties.

Having just two players in the centre of midfield can make keeping the ball difficult against teams playing a three-man central midfield. However, often you'll see one of the two forwards dropping back into midfield when not in possession in an attempt to even up the numbers.

In order to counter this, many 4-4-2 practitioners will play a defensive-minded central midfielder alongside a more attack-focused individual, it being the former's job to cut out any danger posed by an opponent's superior numbers before the backline is put under pressure. However, this takes a body away from the centre of the pitch and can force a team into playing a predictable wide game.

Source www.fourfourtwo.com (Partial that is excluding the strengths of 442 to suit Park Bantam's imbalanced view!)

Enjoy the summer park and thanks for keeping us all amused
During the long hot summer dream of visiting Hartlepool Sutton Harrogate and maybe even Halifax I'll be there
Could so easily with a bit of ambition have been League 1 football and Hillsborough, Pride Park, Stadium of Light
But that's City for you perennial bridesmaids

We'll probably win all our remaining games now and miss out on the playoffs by one point.

Think we will lose this one. It’s either the kids/fringe players prove you’re worthy of a shirt next season
