Every game is winnable but to win another 5 on the spin would be an immense achievement would happily take 11 pts now and see where we are at with 10 games to go.

Newport murdered us at Valley parade 3-0 with a goal in the first couple of minutes. That was the game when McCall in his post match reaction said he thought about trying to match them up and get a 0-0 draw. That was one of our lowest points of the season will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow night.

Can we please stop going on about Callum Cooke being tired. By all means, if you want him dropped for Rowe then say that. He isn't tired. No one mentions that Connor Wood has played 65 games on the bounce but no one wants him rested. Bolton have a good midfield and negated ours somewhat. Why is it only Callum Cooke that gets singled out as being tired?

Clearly Connor Selllars doesn't think it 'nonesense'

    Taken from the T&A today:
Sellars admitted fatigue had crept into City’s play at the weekend as the heavy schedule takes its toll and they will consider making changes for the Exiles clash. Fit-again Gareth Evans is expected to be back in the squad.

Sellars said: “When players start getting tired, they start making poor decisions.

“Looking back at the Bolton game, we had some really good moments when we could have been overloaded on their backline. We had 3v2s or 4v3s but we didn’t quite have that concentration and final pass to make it happen.

“Everybody saw that. We looked deadly on the counter but we didn’t have the quality and we’ve got to ask questions as to why that happened.

“I think fatigue, mental and physical, definitely played a part.

    SPOT ON!

Minor tactical say Rowe v Cook etc but multiple changes are suicide against teams we want to beat. Keep the winning mentality going!

Well that was a result all of our own making. We were completely on top until we gave away another stupid free kick in a dangerous area.
I said ahead of the Bolton game that if we came up against a dead ball specialist we'd be punished. And so it turned out tonight.
We then handed them.the initiative they didn't deserve. Which resulted in the panicy play which resulted in the penalty.

Tonight might do us good. Our performances with the ball haven’t been as good as our form suggests. Our midfield and wide players need to buck their ideas up a bit.

I'm happy to write that one off as a bad day at the office.

The important thing now is how we react. We are in a far better place than less than 3 months ago. We go again.

I don't go with this, the play offs are there for the taking. Newport were poor tonight yet our lack of cutting edge allowed them to be in a game they shouldn't have been in. If this team has any delusions of grandeur then it has to win games like tonight. And tonight showed we still have weaknesses that need addressing.

I was just thinking the same tonight, what if it goes down to a Darlington or Hull City away finish like it did all those years ago, Morecambe away last game of the season winner takes all, if you'd have offered that 7/8 weeks ago most would have snapped your hand off.

It was a penalty all day long as was the foul for the fee kick, Paudie was also lucky with a very good penalty shout against him. That said we shouldn't have lost but that's the luck of football as we found out against Bolton. Have to win on Saturday now or a bigger gap could open up.

How can two managers who have acquired 34 points from 16 games have let themselves down? Sorry, I can't let this one go. Because the way I see it, that's automatic promotion form. And any management team that has that record clearly ain't letting anyone down never mind themselves.

I think it’s a little unfair although I would have probably been totally agreeing last night, but now I’ve had time to cool off after us chucking 3 points away my thoughts are. We can’t expect to throw 3 or 4 new players into the mix and our attacking play just click, it’s why it’s never ideal when you have to do so much business in January, I often think work on the training ground is often overlooked or underrated by us fans. It makes a huge difference to team structure both defensively and offensively. It’s probably easier defensively because you can make it simple and just be rigid and have men behind the ball, but there’s a reason strikers cost the most money because putting the ball in the opponents net it the hardest part of the game.

I’m as frustrated and critical as anyone at how disjointed our attack looks and how few chances we create, but realistically just bringing in new faces was never going to turn us into high scorers and create loads of chances.

It’s not really anyone’s fault it’s going to take time on the training ground, time we haven’t got now , so I think we aren’t going to look much different attacking wise until next season now. We’re just going to have to hope we can grind games out as we have done in the main until now.

Also our fitness regime needs looking at as it’s always near the end we drop so deep and start to make silly mistakes such as simple miss placed passes. It was heavily criticised under McCall, but because we’ve been winning gets some what overlooked. You can’t make a team super fit though overnight again we’ll need a full ore season.

Everyone enthused over Bolton’s domination of us on Saturday. Imho we, for large parts of the game last night, had County chasing shadows in the same way. The critical missing link for me was Cooke’s absence. The final 25 yds was/is the weak link.
I wonder what their fans are saying today, “They should have been out of sight after completely dominating us especially for 75% of the second half” ? Am I wearing those pro BCAFC rose tinted specs this afternoon?
