But of yesterday's starting team only Hornby, O'Connor, Watt, Cooke, and Cook were with us last year. The rest were new players, likewise the manager. So what are the common denominators? And why are the new players performing just like their predeccessors?

Only home end to be in, and enjoy football, might be Halifax

Quick question when wast the last time we stuck with a manager through a bad run. And what was the result

Parky. Obviously. However comparing Parky to Adams is like comparing vintage chateau neuf du pape to aldis £3 bordeaux range

Yeah but how many of that lot from last season are still within the squad ?????
I ain’t blaming just the players but it does seem that Adams is taking a lot of flak where some of this lot who gave up last season are getting away with it again ............ if some within that squad are showing poor attitudes then that can easily rub on to the others :(
Seriously he goes now then nothing will change they simply do not care and that yesterday sums them up

But during that bad run the players where all battling this lot ain’t ............you could see that teams had to work hard to get a result against us ............ this lot don’t have that mentality....... we don’t have a Gary Jones who will drag us forward we simply are leaderless

Park is right though tbf. Tho k to Parkys first season and bad run rather than the one when he’d already got all his team together and credit in the bank. People on here(c & b) at the time called him Plonkinson and defended players like David Syers for instance saying someone else could get more out of them. There were plenty who would rather Parkinson have left over Syers at the end of that season. Replace Cooke for Syers or Watt and there are similar patterns. Of course sticking with Adams doesn’t mean the same outcome, but as Park has said sacking every 4-5 months certainly isn’t working either. I’d rather a manger weed out those who have constantly downed tools for multiple managers as Parkinson was allowed.

You do have a habit of looking backwards than forward. Is what happened 8 years ago, relative to today?

For the record, I'm keeping the faith in Adams but I'm getting itchy feet. I hope he turns it around but at the moment, as gaffer of Bradford City, it aint enough to tie in with our MINIMUM ambition of promotion.

Seriously considering the Halifax v Grimsby game Tues night. Town could go 4 points clear at the top of the league.

Like I said folk thinking that sacking Adams will sort everything out are gonna be in for a shock ............ a new man comes in he will get a few good games out of the con artists and it will fade off again and then they will be calling for his head............ don’t get me wrong it’s not been great under Adams but this as gone in for years now and that’s got nothing to do with Adams ........... maybe if Sparkes had kept his mouth shut then folk may have not got all giddy about us going up ........... this sadly is gonna take a while to sort out with or without Adams

There are some obvious common denominators for me, but the strange thing is that this has gone on for a very long time, before anyone now connected with the club was here. I don't know the answer to this conundrum but I strongly suspect it's the factor that myself and John Butterfield have frquently mentioned i.e.the lack of anyone at board level having any proper understanding of professional football.

They have enough ex players down there during matchdays that could provide a bridge between the board and the fans namely Hendrie or Jacko both with conections with the club and both who have knowledge of management etc

I went to the Shay yesterday to see Halifax demolish Eastleigh. I'm a very infrequent away game attendee these days. So it's not like I chose that game over City. But it was massively more entertaining than probably 90% of the City games I've been to this season. Even though I've paid for a ST, I didn't mind spending another £20 to watch attractive football on a Saturday afternoon. I live on the border of Lancs and West Yorks, so it's simpler to get to as well.

To be honest, I'll have a decision to make in the summer just where I'll be watching the majority of my live football next season. If this transfer window's as disappointing as I expect and Halifax continue to do well. The pendulum's swinging towards Calderdale. Even my Mrs noticed yesterday evening that my mood wasn't as dark as it is after a recent trip to Valley Parade. I'm sick to the back teeth of the empty promises and tin pot attitude emanating from the football club I support.

I am and have been critical of Adams but he is a proven manager at this level and he needs more time than half a season to prove it

I've always had some massive soft spot gor Halifax, and it's the first result I look gor after a city match. It has been years though since I went to the shay, but that might change.

You aren’t wrong, the promotion talk from Sparks roped me and I imagine many more in and that’s probably the most frustrating thing. I was for letting T & S go I said so on here but I thought with us bringing in a proven manager at this level there would have been a mass clear out and rebuild in the summer, with a bit of investment for real quality at this level not Lavary, Kelleher and Robinsons of this world.

I was never into the Co manager idea, but if they’d have made Trueman sole manager, with a genuine focus on youth development and investment in better coaching and scouting systems and we were told honestly that it would take time myself and I’m sure others would have been far more patient and forgiving for crap displays. As it is the bar has been set and we’ll be falling way short of it.

Fully understand your current feelings for the team, but there’s no way I could watch another side regularly when my team is playing the same day at home. The odd occasion fair enough, but City is in the blood and I live in hope the results will come again.

Good luck to you though, each to their own,
