Match Thread Away to Southend Tuesday 26th January at 7.00pm

Had the match won but took our foot off the pedal and let them back into it. Now they have their tails up and we need to up our intensity to match them. If we do we will win, if we don’t match them we will lose.

 

Give them a break it's 1-1 FFS. Reading this I'd think we were getting battered.

I disagree. It feels like more than the final ball is missing. of course we were bad under Stuart and we have improved our defensive side but there is two sides to every game. We will ultimately come to the stage where we need to score more goals.

I disagree. Rowe has had the ball up to him so many times and no one near by at all and we lose it.

I think most people recognise we’ve not played as well as we have recently and can see Southend nicking another unless we get the cohesion back.

 

Yes, I understand what you're saying. Rowe is playing as he did at Cambridge and the 3 behind him need to learn quick and push on. We've had more shots and attacking moments than Cambridge but it feels like we've had less control of the game. We have the ability to win this game if we apply ourselves.

 

I am not trying to say we are bad, we look much improved I agree. More looking longer term as a team. It’s worked so far to solidify us but worry long term

 

Because we've been hoofing it more than previous weeks for some reason. Clarke, Cooke, Evans aren't quick enough to get up there.

 

Maybe it’s early days for Rowe to bed into the team and he’s not really a target man. Hope we aren’t going to continue with that when Novak is fit. Don’t want another Doyle

 

Or we could look at it that we take our chances that we didn't first half and we win easliy

 

He’s doing a good job as TM. Winning most headers up to him. Had one lovely bit of skill to take the ball and turn.

A bit late to the party but as soon as we scored we looked very shaky, even panicky, and it was no surprise we conceded within 8 minutes. We were firmly in control until we scored and then the players seemed to be consumed by nerves. Perhaps some help with a sports psychologist could be of benefit.
