Now that's exactly what I thought but the commentators said Southend hadn't had back to back home wins v us since something like 1980. My perception was that we usually lost there, but looking back over the last 11 years we have actually won 4 and lost 3 of 9.

against Southend away. Our home form against them
is pretty good.
Up to 87/88 season we had played them 20 times.

Not surprising we have a memory of being
an unhappy place to go. They are right about
back to back wins but we have missed seasons
when they got promoted. We had a big gap when
we were playing higher. -

I'm thinking that if Cooke can keep up with this form, then Watt becomes the weakest link in midfield. For a ball winning player, I think he disappears from games a lot. We need someone in his position that can take the game by the scruff of the neck when needed, and that's not him. I believe he's a great prospect, but at twenty years old, he's not quite been round the block enough to know the true ins and outs of that position. Of course, there's exceptions in the forms of Gerrard and Lampard, but they were not run of the mill young midfielders. I'd like us to get an experienced anchor man in, who can free up Cooke and Sutton to drive forward a bit more - like we know they can do. Watt is one for the future for sure. Has an excellent range of passing, but his positioning is a bit off sometimes.

I like Jamie Raynor it’s Handy Andy who is the problem. You would think the station would have rumbled him by now
