No problems for me early afternoon, collected our batch, and a second one ordered by friends and was away again within a minute or so.

"Sorry I missed my Biology GCSE today sir, but whilst my dad was at home and could have got me a Carlisle ticket online as our season tickets are linked, Mr Fordy said that I must go queue personally! " said my 15 year old son upon return to school......

Ours were in an envelope that had a plastic window with all my details, looking at him getting mine they were in alphabetical order in large box's, the only reason I went yesterday was I thought I'd read they have to be picked up by Wednesday or they would be sent to Carlisle and fans would have to pick them up from their ticket office, my bad.
I know this may come as a shock @Fordy117@Fordy117 but both tickets were in the same envelope.

Completely out of order. They should have held on to the tickets until both of you were there to pick then up......

Perhaps what Fordy was alluding to was that if you know of several season ticket holders whom are not going to Carlisle, is it right and effective that you can essentially just state their names at the ticket office and collect say 5 or 6 tickets for Carlisle? Said buyer then either passes those tickets on to non-ST holders and/or sells them on.

I'm not saying one shouldn't be able to collect their friends and families tickets, of course not, especially those whom are in school and/or elderly/disabled. But is our system process as effective as it can be to stop people potentially misusing it?

Before anyone bites my head off I'm merely trying to look at this from both perspectives whilst playing a bit of devil's advocate.

That's a different perspective and actually is a fair point but as you allude to, how do you police it. The club get bashed enough, imagine trying to get "evidence" that said recipients were actually attending.
Selling on is an issue across sport and entertainment, one I'm struggling to think of , that has addressed said issues.

If I buy 1 ticket with loyalty points for Carlisle, whats to say i aren't passing that on to a non season ticket holder?

You see the away end's at premier league clubs and it's full of tourists paying top dollar for a ticket clearly bought by someone else. If Man Utd can't police it, what makes you think Bradford have the resources?

You’re very wrong there. Home ends are full of tourists at PL matches, never away.

There is a growing anger from various fans at the amount of fans finding themselves for tickets in the away ends. People who can get tickets bag the loyalty points and sell on the tickets for the not so sort after games. Fans on forums have been going nuts about it seeing people in half and half scarves taking selfies when they are season ticket holders don't have a cat in hells chance of getting tickets themselves. Money talks, and Man City no so long ago started to impose random checks on people so they had to pick up their tickets in person in the City of the game to ensure they weren't selling the ticket on.

only way I can think is anjoined up ticketing system that as you scan the ticket to get in it accesses your record at your home club that holds a photo. No match then not allowed in.
But can not see them doing it due to technical and GDPR issues

Just bring back the GR days when we had to buy in person by going through the turnstiles and paying cash.

We are not Man Utd and don’t have their worldwide fan base.

We can and should be policing it.

I don’t get this people can’t collect their own ticket.

It’s like saying friends and family all take money out of bank accounts and use their bank cards. This doesn’t happen.

Bradford City are messed up here and the system is open to abuse.

I wish Sparks would engage his brain.

Order your ticket. One ticket per person. Don’t collect then you don’t go. That bloody simple. The ticket gets sold on to the next person.

Do you have any friends and family? Would you send your daughter down to pick up her own ticket rather than pick it up for her? If you lived outside Bradford like many people do would you expect everyone to travel to Valley Parade to clog up a shop to pick up tickets when one person could. Engage your brain.

You'd think there is a black market for City tickets, when infact there are probably two games a decade where demand far exceeds supply.

Anyone who has a decent number of away games to their name was in the guaranteed ticket bracket. Everyone else had the same chance as everyone else, and there was nothing stopping you queuing for yourself or a few of your friends so you could all sit together.

It's a far better system than one where you put £50 up front to jump the queue on the basis of getting a big game but then made zero attempt to follow the club in the meantime.
