Possibility back watching the game next season yet some prefer to knock the clubs passed, give if a rest and at least try and see some positives in our new begining.

We are not a big club in football terms . Spent most of our time in the lower divisions with a very brief spot in the limelight.

@Tight1-0Victory you are forgetting how cyclic football is. Next season only 3 clubs L2 have been in the PL. just because we are struggling on the pitch doesn't mean we are struggling off the pitch.
Oldham, swindon , Sheffield Wednesday, derby and rochdale are having real difficulties at the moment.
This sense of entitlement is disturbing and toxic to the club. -

This season City finished 83rd, Stockport 95th. We’re 40 places lower, they’re 32 places lower.
When Stefan bought City we finished 5th in league one, so 49th in the pyramid, Stockport finished 125th.
Last 17 years under Rhodes/Rupp we’re -40 places or -24 in Rupp’s era. Stockport are +30 places in the last five years.
Excluding Bury and Macclesfield, I think only Scunthorpe (51st to 90th = -39 places), Bolton (44th to 71st = -27 places), Wigan (45th to 68th = -23 places) and Sunderland (17th to 48th = -39 places) are close to the number of places City have fallen down the pyramid in the last five years.
Might be wrong, and the numbers might be a little bit out, I’d need to do some better research than on my phone in the social club, but either way, the last five years at City have been amongst the worst half dozen or so in the top four divisions.
That alone is enough to say Rupp and Sparks need to do better.Onside, RCarol, bantamdave41 and 1 other person like this. -

I think if we're honest as a fan base, we know that we're actually doing okay financially, we're not badly run in the same way that Bolton, Blackpool and most recently Sheffield Wednesday have been, and Bury obviously went bust because they were run so poorly.
However, with equal honesty, we're probably bottom five in terms of success since the turn of the millennium. We've had four relegations and one promotion, several indifferent seasons, and two that really captured the imagination with some incredible cup runs.
Thanks to the sale to Rupp and Rahic, we're back to being at the bottom of the pile in terms of a ratio of expectations-to-achievements. I'm sure like many posters on this forum, it hurts being in League Two and it's not nice to dissect the undeniable reality of the situation - we shouldn't be in League Two, IMHO, we're a big fish in a small pond, but we're here on merit unfortunately.
We need to turn this big oil tanker of a club round, and while there's signs of green shoots like @bantamdave41 says, we need that to bear fruit pretty quickly.
If we're crap again this season, everyone on this board will be questioning why a guy who was never interested in football bought this club, then entrusted it to Rahic, then entrusted it to Rhodes, then entrusted it to Ryan. For Rupp's sake, Ryan needs to win the football equivalent of the lottery to save Rupp becoming public enemy number one, and I really believe that. -
Sadly in this case comments on here have been fired by the media to a degree. Journos are supposed to respect their sources and in my view over the last two weeks in particular that has not happened.
Today we are where we are, we have an appointment which I assume is to be formally unveiled, let's move on now and be happy with that and the many other things, sponsorships, stadium works, etc I'm sure Ryan and team will disclose to us when ready.JonButterfield, Interested Bystander and Park bantam like this. -

I think we are doing pretty badly, it has to be said. But you only have to look at the league tables over the last three years and the number of managers we've gone through to confirm that. Massive rebuilding job needed and I believe it will be 2-3 years before we get promoted from this league. It will be horrible but now more than ever we need patience because you cannot buy yourself out of this league. It needs something special and something really ugly to get out of league two. We need to start making progress again, starting with this season. Get a manager in, get players in, get a backroom and data analysis all set up. Let's see how we can do with a blank slate and don't sack the manager until the end of the season.

Trying hard not to swear at this guy. He is a total and utter..... We have spent all but around 10 years since 1903 in the bottom two divisions. We are a distinctly average club. To change that requires huge investment Man City style from overseas owners. Not going to happen.
