Don’t take it as everyone else is as blinkered as yourself some of us can see the bigger picture to what is happening in the ivory towers if you had your way Edin would have still been here and we would probably be playing in the Northern Counties by now . It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee don’t forget these are the same people you berated when games get postponed and your already over here .

The latter part of this season has been relegation form.

Saying what their intentions are.
Example
We are in discussions to purchase the stadium
We are in discussions around a change of ownership
We are looking at alternative funding options.
They do not have to go into great detail and these thing might not come off, but at least it would show they are fully awre of the situation and are not sleepwalking towards relegation.Ponty City, CRASS, Citymatt and 2 others like this. -

Ive said on a previous thread that without drastic change from top down, we are heading out of the league.
I certainly wouldnt back against that next season or the year after. We can't just plod along as we are without there being serious consequences.
I've seen some bleak times over the years, but can't recall as big a disconnect between the club and the fanbase as we have now.Chris Withe, Onside, JonButterfield and 1 other person like this. -

As for us next season, it's impossible to say at this stage as we have no idea which players will be kept or let go. Things can turn around very quickly, I doubt anyone at Salford this time last year or even when they lost to Stockport thought they would be 20th but a bad summer window destroyed the squad. Likewise this time last year I'm not sure many Crewe fans thought they would be in the race for top 3 a year later when they were sat in 18th.vladimir, Idlebantam and JonButterfield like this. -
I think we are short of cash right now! They need ST sales or otherwise Rupp will have to prop us up or not. There is something going on I can just sense it. The take up of ST is probably freaking them out and so it should. The selling of a club takes months so that isn’t an instant solution and we can’t not pay our way aka Reading who received a point reduction.
If I was Rupp I would suspend ST sales and offer a 10 match ST or lower that way ppl are not committed longer than it takes to sell the club.Bantamsteve, vladimir and Mal Content like this. -
Next season is not looking good. Only saving grace is the possibility of cutting squad size and replacing with fewer much higher quality players. But even for that, really not sure where the budget comes from. Definite relegation battle on the cards next year so yes those that think otherwise do need to wake up and smell the coffee

In any case, history tells us it doesn't matter a toss what players or managers are signed, we continue to seriously underachieve in L2. Our past finishes since being relegated back to this level have been 9th, 15th, 14th, 6th, and probably end up 19th or 20th this season realistically, and the amount of players, managers & staff coming & going in that time and the amount of money spent will be at eye watering levels... -

Really not sure. I'd say recruitment will be the key, but we've got so much dross still on the books next season. There's never been a togetherness this season. I said the same at the start of the season after watching pre-season and the videos around the lads in Spain, there was something off. There didn't seem that level of comradery, there didn't seem to be anything fluid on the pitch, there was nothing off the pitch being shown either for fans to get some facetime with the new squad. We had nothing to go on other than if you popped down to a pre-season game. Fans these days consume content at the touch of their finger. They record training constantly, it's so easy to make a quick few minute video, here's the new signing, here's a bit of training, here's the lads having a laugh. Just show some humanity rather than loading wikipedia on the first game of the season. It's just a very little thing but adding even a thread of relationship between players and fans is key, as I don't feel like many have been invested at all in our lot this season.
I think he needs to drop the 5 at the back too, it just doesn't work with the players we have. He wants to play a high line with 3 CBs, but all our defence turn like a cruise ship and how many times has one ball over the top done us in over the last month? We don't have the talent out wide or any option with a relationship with Cook to threaten teams either. We've never built a partner, and the wide players are dropped and rotated every game because none have consistency. If it was me, I'd set the defence 5 or 10 yards further back when we attack, and play 433 with McDonald/Smallwood sitting, always being within 10 yards of the CBs and properly sitting. Mainly McDonald as I think were done with Richie and he is too but McD cant play 90 every few days. Have Gilly and Walker in CM, let Halliday and Richards/Ridehalgh play a more natural full back role as to wing backs. Then play your deep front 3 and get pace around Cook. We seem to play hoof ball anyway under GA and look for knock downs, seems really brainless to play hoof, then march all the defence to the half way line as we rarely win the hoof, which gives the opposition an easy lump over us and they are in.Tony Wilkinson and Onside like this. -
