Edin has a fans opinion like everyone else. He has probably achieved more in football than this entire message board collectively.

 

I dont think that is the case. I believe you can be optimistic. But writing off a player before a ball is kicked is ludicrous.

 

But it's OK to write off potential managers / coaches before the have been seen at this club?

 

Well in Edin’s defence he’s certainly following his blue print in that he only needs a head coach to develop a team and not a manager wheeling and dealing.

I was critical that a delayed appointment would delay recruitment but that’s definitely not the case but I can’t make up my mind whether Edin’s team will be good enough next year

One things for sure (if it was wasn’t already) he’s putting his head firmly on the chopping board, absolutely no hiding from this approach

He's got a business man's head on. Let's be fair he wants to succeed not because he loves City but because he sees the club as a way to make money. I'm not saying he hasnt grown to love being around the club, but when he leaves he won't be stood on the Kop when it's pissing it down on a cold December night.

He probably has achieved more, that doesn't stop people having reservations or concerns. Are you saying that unless you've owned a club you're not allowed to voice an opinion?

 

Edin may be a fan now but ask yourself would he have been a fan if he had bought Rochdale or Doncaster for example.At the time we were his best option to own a club not a club he decided to support we are a business to him nothing more
Like Mark and Julian after he has sold the club do you see him attending matches

Very enthusiastic interview with O'Connor in the T&A today.
Rahic and Abbo certainly 'sold' him their vision for the club. Lets hope they can similarly sell such a vision to a decent coach. I personally have no issue with the model of a head coach concept, but you do need a coach to come in who is 100% behind that model, unlike clearly Grayson was.

 

Not at all. Just saying he was involved in Football (albeit at a low level as a scout) and now owns a football club. We need to remember it is not just Edin signing the players - it is Greg Abbot too.

He was a scout for Stuttgart and has now owned a professional football club for 2 years. Limited experience but remember he has Greg Abbott identify the players. Rahic will simply sign the cheques.

 

I think Rahic has some input, but trusts Greg Abbott 100% with his signings. The players coming in this close season, bar Isherwood, are all ones that Rahic won't have any knowledge of. Time will tell, but after all the crap slung at him it appears there are green shoots of the "plan" starting to bed in.

 

The directors have a say in transfers at every club. It’s they that pay the wages

 

Because the achievements count for so much. He's a businessman at the end of the day

Happy with this signing, looks a good solid one, plenty of good experience at this level, and the top level in Scotland, yet still young enough to warrant a 3 year deal. Be interesting to see how our first choice defence now pans out. Havent read any updates on the progress of McGowan's recovery though, so far this summer

 

Robinson, Taylor, Warnock, Guy, Lund and McGowan didn't too bad.

 

I'm not sure we're relegation candidates but thats largely based on us being all right for the past couple of years.

As long as we've got a solid xi with experience, the development squad hopefully won't be a problem. Just when we have to rely on some of them who aren't up to it.

 

Agree. Yet also the reason why I'm expecting no more than another midtable finish.
Yet, if City can avoid all those injuries and player 'burn' outs from last season - who knows ? Flirting with the top six ?
I'm sure we'll have the numbers, but the quality of those numbers is unknown, as we speak.
