To be fair to him, last night he was calling it right from the start that we were too slow, pedestrian even.

On the flip side, if he continues with "he's through" when the attacker has at least two defenders around him then I'll do my nut!

 

I've actually agreed with some of his observations on the team in the last couple of weeks
His first good call was when he pointed out that we just came out for the start of a recent game and stood about. He said that we'd get off to a slow start. And we did!
I also agree with some of his mildly critical observations of RoD
Of course sandwiched between these little nuggets of wisdom is the usual drivvel.

 

It's hard to fit him into a structured formation which is probably why he was at AFC Fylde for so long. At that level they could give a free role.
At this level his lack of pace and workrate let him down.
At his age it would be hard to justify building a team around him, so I think he will be on his way before his contract is up.

 

I prefer him to others I’ve heard, don’t get me wrong he talks crap but they’re local radio commentators. He makes me laugh at the crap he says so he’ll do for me, don’t take him to seriously in these times we could all do with some light hearted laugher.

He does actually make some fair points tbf even if he doesn’t make sense half the time, our intensity is shocking as he keeps pointing out, just wish our managers would as well.

 

The highlight of the McCall era was how Jamie used to get under his skin in the post match interview. I used to duck the commentary ( because of you know who!) but tune in post match to listen to Jamie provoking Stuart.

 

I've watched most of the games rather than listening to them on the radio/ifollow recently but I'd still maintain at times that they do a poor job at times for radio commentary. If I wasn't watching the pictures at times I'd think play had stopped or they were in the other half of the pitch! The commentator really doesn't do a good job of explaining where the ball is on the pitch at times.

 

He could talk a glass eye to sleep.

How he's managed to get the gig for another season is as surprising as Anderson and Devine handed new contracts by the club.

My favourite so far this season, was when Vaughan scored (after Devit had hit the bar). Andy was saying "WHO should pop up but James Vaughan", but it came out as: "Uuuuuuuuuu, Uuuuuuuuuuuuu should pop up......" At the time I thought he was just very very excited. You know.

 

It is though.

 

I must have been listening to a different Pulse, the refs got it in the neck come rain or shine and some of the guest summarisers, especially in the last season, put me in a coma.

 

Tim Steere is awful.

 

I listened to him on the way home after the game on Saturday and he did actually talk sense despite my previous thoughts on his commentary on some away games last season. He did you know a lot, which is annoying, but he did eventually get his point across which was valid. He does give him opinion from an ex players point of view rather than just a fans view which is what Thornton used to do on the pulse.

 

Don't think Frank is Irish, mate.

 

@Bronco @Rogered Tart The boxer was Danny McAlinden. Defeated Jack Bodell in two rounds for the heavy weight crown.

 

I think it is a bit rich really calling out Andy Kiwomya when his heart is clearly in the game and our club. I listen to him and ok hes not David Dimbleby but which footballer is ? He gives his opinion as co-comm and he understands the game. His opinion is defintely a valid one because he has actually played the game at a good level over many years.

Contrast AK with say Alex Scott the England ladies player who is on absolutely everything these days ? But AK would not get the gig on MOTD or Sky or with Kammy on Sunday. Yet he has played the game at a far higher level than Ms Scott ??

So if we are going to be patronised on National football tv programmes by pretending Ms Scott can instruct us on the mens game ? equally as Shearer or Murphy or Souness or Redknapp then I am certain Andy's opinion is as valid as Ms Scotts and more so. Even if he may not cutely smile and articulate it just as well ?
