I went, asked a question, found that both Ryan and Derek are decent at answering the questions and sounding logical.

The statement they made that I agreed with most was that none of the Stefan Rupp stuff or the little details would matter to anyone if we were winning games and getting promoted.

Well then.

Time to get promoted.

 

I went and there were lots of straight to the point, uncomfortable questions that neither of them dodge. Adams was ruffled when challenged about winners, but on the whole they accepted the situation isn’t good enough and not winning promotion will be failure. I get the impression he will start to move players on sooner rather than later.

 

DA: "I never had any input into the players that were released. But they are all my signings - every single player and I've got to take responsibility for that."

Didn’t a fair few on here saying these were all Turnbulls signings and that’s why we are crap?

 

If you had actually been there Fordy and asked some of your "probing" questions maybe people would take your criticisms seriously.
At least the dancers as you insultingly call them, bothered to go.

 

You could argue Sparks has done the remit set by Rupp. Balance the books, keep the fans sweet with some cosmetic changes around the stadium and bring in a manager proven to work with meagre budgets. Sparks can't go on the field and kick a ball as well. Don't get me wrong I'm not particularly a fan of his, all the schmaltzy sales talk makes me cringe, but he isn't responsible for that performance on Saturday. The blame predominantly goes to the manager. We have a terrible habit this season of going missing for the second half of games and Adams has not been able to change this. I know our squad is poor but there is a feeling the players are not sure what's expected of them, just running around and giving 100% is not tactical advice. On Saturday for instance, Kelvin Mellor could waltz into our half unchallenged and did so for most of the game. Why is the manager not instructing the team how to close down this option. Or sticking Sutton on the bench knowing full well he wouldn't use him. Are we that hard up that we stick unfit players on the bench?
Let's see what Saturday brings. But unless we have at least two new players starting, I dread us going one nil down because we get worse as games go on.

 

It might just be me, but I find all this hatred for sparks pretty harsh, name a more pro active CEO I the last 20 years? He’s come in, finally got a manager that 99% of fans were more than happy with, got a commercial aspect up & running to create funds for the club. Delivered & budget that Rupp has obviously agreed to. Now is it his fault directly how that playing budget has been spent? Is it his fault rupp has not released more funds? Is it his fault the team are poor? It’s pretty clear to me it’s a commercially viable business. It’s also clear to me the blame is on Adam’s for not getting a tune out of his players. & an non existant owner who is happy to plod along. I’d certainly delete my account if this abuse was heading my way. All for trying to do the best in a job he obviously craves.

 

Thing is mate it could have been you there asking the cutting edge questions and holding them to account, absolutely nothing stopping you. I see you have gone quiet on the ‘questions are been screened’ topic as it was simply a lie that you made up. It would appear that it’s you who is the dancer, all talk on here but I’ve seen nothing to back it up.

 

There's no excuse for charging more than £200 for a season ticket in League Two.

The fallacy that we're charging super cheap prices for season tickets is worn out.

It's a bit cheap. But then it should be. £200 to watch games against Sutton and Barrow is plenty. Acting like we should be charging £350 because "wE wIlL mAkE lOaDs Of MoNeY" is boring, false, and wrong.

There's no advantage to him answering that question with 'Turnbull signed X and Y'.

It's the only sensible answer. They're in his squad, end of.

 

Sadly I agree with Derek. Society HAS changed people and in all walks of life people simply will not run through brick walls anymore.
Too many people have gotten used to doing the bare minimum at work and heaven forbid there’s any ‘banter’ in the workplace they run off to HR like a snowflake and then have 6 weeks off with stress.

 

When I was at school one of our teachers played for a local side and one week when they were short he asked me and another lad if we fancied a game. So as a 17 year old right back I found myself against a winger who soon informed me that he'd been sent off in his last game for smacking a bloke who'd fouled him. Shortly afterwards he got the ball and when he picked himself out of the bushes a few yards beyond the touchline he took a rather more sanguine approach to the game.

Looked like a lot of vanilla answers that tell us nothing new and don't really seem to acknowledge the concerns that fans have or give us anything material to believe in for why the future should be brighter.

Pretty much exactly as I expected.
