Nice to see somebody behaving in a responsible manner. However, for me it is the wrong ppl who are apologising. Plus the player deserve his condemnation, they need to respond to their failure to try and come back on Saturday, skill I can live without, sheer determination to win I can’t.

Why does he have to come out and apologise? He didn't sign the players, where are Abbott and Edin to face up to the press. Their recuitment has already cost one person their job.

Good of him to apologise and it shows even better that he is the man of passion we all hoped for

I expected him to walk today and I think that would have been the end of all hope. I would be happy for this man to be in charge in League Two if it (most likely) comes to that. I think he knows what it's all about and has the fight to get us out, what he doesn't have at the minute are the players.
I don't blame him for not doing any press on Saturday. I don't think there would have been anything constructive or helpful he could have added to the post-match conversation.Bantamsmike, banbrotam, vladimir and 7 others like this. -
He actually said that the step up from Accrington to Bradford City was massive and gave a few examples one being the training facilities, where as at Accrington he trained in the equivalent of Richard Dunn's and were lucky to have enough balls to go around.
Lets be truthful he is a league two player and showing exactly that at Lincoln.
The fans love the club and gaffer says McCartan, I'll let you into a secret Shay we loved the manager and club and the players, (did you forget the fans adulation at Fleetwood when you scored the winner) before they downed tools and helped get Stuart McCall sacked, hope Lincoln will stump up a transfer fee for you because if you thought it was toxic last season you won't cope if you come back to Bradford City.

I would guess that he wanted to do it, and was too emotional after the match on Saturday to speak with the media. I can't blame him.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Newquaybantam, punk bantam, FrenchBantam and 3 others like this. -
As for his post match silence - It came as no shock to me ......... Just what could Hopkin have said, following that utterly inept second half 'display' ? FWIW, I think the 'display' said more than any report could ever hope to do.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Relieved with this. The press no show was worrying
Shows that he's determined to turn us around
With regards to the players, whilst I wanted to get rid of the lot of them after that second half, until we see more or less the first 11 playing together for a few matches we cannot totally write off the signings
Confidence is crucial, as we've just seen with the Hamilton v Vettel battle. The players getting this back is essential but also very difficult.FrenchBantam, Hulmebantam and Onside like this. -

I don't really blame him for not talking to the media.
What else can he say except "Same S**T, different day"
I like his straight talking too. :-
“The attitude of the players left a lot to be desired and we blew a massive chance to earn a vital three points, in what was a significant fixture for the club given our current predicament.”
Sends a strong message out to the chairmen and the players.
Hopkin could have walked, but he didn't. I respect that.
We're gonna need someone with his "Never give up" attitude.
The players could do with following his lead too.QCFC BANTAM, Hulmebantam and broadsword like this. -

The embarassment in sending David Hopkins to apologise when someone within the club sanctioned the decision to actually pay an undisclosed fee for Kai Brunker.

McCarten's comments -
“I’m back to enjoying football, last year I didn’t enjoy my football. I’m back to feeling how I did at Accrington. It was hard at Bradford, since I signed it just went on to a downward spiral, everything went pear-shaped and the fans were getting on the back of owner and that led on to us and it was a negative atmosphere. I feel sorry for the lads there as they’ll be giving their all but it’s hard to everything around you is so negative to get out of that rut. Here it’s different, it’s all positive. The fans love the club and the gaffer, it’s just positive everywhere which is opposite to what I had at Bradford.”Onside, Broadsider and Botswana Bantam like this. -

Flicked on to the T&A just after the story was posted on there and the page froze with just the big picture of Hopkin with the "Breaking" news tag in the top corner. Got to admit that I was more than a little bit concerned for a few seconds until the rest of the page came up with the headline that he is staying!

Interesting, that Hopkins releases a positive (in terms of that there is now no doubt he's staying) statement this morning
I wonder if he's been told of these changes
Normally, I'm cynical about rumours but this fits. Rupp wants us to be a success, for simple business reasons if nothing else and Rhodes would be willing to help and Edin probably wants outYorkieman and Carts #CTID like this.
