He's played a few different roles now at various clubs, was defensive type midfielder last season, at Scunthorpe he was further forward and more of a central role, when he first came to us he was used as a wide player. I'm pretty sure he's played over 150 games for us now. If he does leave it will be with the best of luck from me, the lad has never let the club down, whoever he ends up with is getting a decent lad on and off the field

I know where you are coming from , however perhaps by accident, I believe the second option could eventually be the best one by a long way?

Williams would never have a sell on value, as it’s unlikely he could improve, whereas Pattison could. Look at the age difference in a positive light, the capability to play two seasons on the trot versus part seasons and only 60 min games.

Our “Plan B “, as it were, is the far better 3 year option than Williams imho.

This and the McDonald signing have certainly strengthened a weak area.

Will probably be able to manage a full 90 minutes as well. Losing out on Williams doesn't see quite so bad now.

I was one of Gilliead's biggest critics, especially during Adams tenure at the club, but I see what he brings to the team. He leaves everything on the pitch, puts a shift in every week. If his technical ability was just a bit better and he was willing to shoot more often, he'd be in a league above. If he does leave, it will be a shame to see him go. But he is replaceable. Lets see how it pans out

Gilliead is just a busy player with an engine. He’s never had end product and at this stage in his career, I doubt he’ll suddenly improve beyond where he is. He’s been given most roles on a pitch and been adequate without really excelling. For a side that needs to get out of this league we need quality. At 27 will Gilliead settle for a bit part role?

Alex has known Chappers since they were 7 years old and they played together at Middlesbrough for years and know each other's game inside out. This could be one hell of a signing if he brings out the best in Harry as well.

Surely a prospective buyer of the club would judge the facilities as suitable to meet the needs of the club in terms of delivering success on the pitch. If the facilities are fit for purpose then a prospective buyer should be happy with that? And the fact that we don't own it means that it can't be included in the purchase of the club as it's not an asset. Which in turn should make buying the club cheaper and investing in the club a more attractive proposition?
A training ground owned by the club is only really an asset if you realise that asset and that means selling it.
It's a bit like when folk say Rupp is worth €100m. He may be but that isn't liquidity. It only becomes that figure in terms of spending if he sold his business and cashed in his other assets.

Yes, i guess I am saying it would have been a big shame to miss out on this player because he wasnt a plan A.

And I am not sure why he wasnt a plan A. Id have taken him from the start over Williams.
