Well us City fans love a trier, me included, but there comes a point where you have to say enough is enough, and for me, Gillead has reached that point. He's been given opportunity after opportunity to show his worth, where others (Gibson etc.) have been overlooked. Time to move on, for me anyway.

A wingers in the team to provide assists with decent crosses or pull backs plus chip in with a few goals but Gilliead fails on all accounts. His decision making is poor and he is also to greedy which results in giving the ball away . We can find better wingers out there plus don't forget he's got plenty of interest from championship clubs that's what was said back in December.

    It’s a yes from me.

He has the ability to hold the ball and go forward while gliding past opposition players. I haven’t seen any other player at the club consistently capable of that this season. He also wins a lot of headers for a winger which I think goes unnoticed.

As already highlighted, the statistics show that there are areas which he needs to improve upon, but he is still at a young age and I would expect him to improve as a player. He has certainly been one of the better performers this season.

If its next to nothing to get him on perm contract I think we Should try to sign him but I wouldn't want another loan or be paying £100k plus for

No, wouldn’t have him back. Nowhere near as good as other wingers we’ve had, eg Marshall, Summerbee, even Kyel Reid.

Need better if we are to be a dangerous and attacking side next year.

Its a no from me. Flatters to deceive. He does seem to have an ability to glide passed defenders at times, but practically zero end product in terms of assists and goals. Time to look elsewhere

This is where you and I agree. It appears City signed AG as a replacement for Marshall, when in reality it should have been in addition to. OK, so we lost Marshalls services, yet failed to replace him. Robinson is still developing, and a wiser head was and is needed.
As for would I want him back ? That would depend upon the general team setup, for next season.

As said above the lad has plenty of pace and talent but dosent use it enough. I'd be tempted to give him another chance with a rocket up his ass as otherwise he will probably be signed by a rival and be a world beater a bit like Morris.

Considering Reach is an established Champ player and Gilly is average L1 your assessment is probably right.

Such a frustrating player. If the deal was right financially then it’s a no brainer. He’s very talented and the flaws in his game that others have highlighted can be worked on and improved as he’s still only 22. Get him in on a freebie and on sensible wages then he’s definitely worth persevering with.

Sometimes, despite looking very good, then the ‘fit’ is not right. The same could be said for a number of City players this season. I think sometimes, you have to let things go. Along with a lot of th current team, the ‘ingredients’ in isolation may well be quite good, but put together the recipe does not work.
I want a winger who provides 10+ assists and chips in with 5-8 goals a season. Perhaps in two or three years Alex will do that, but the evidence suggests he is not going to do it at Valley parade. Time to move on.

I'd go with that I think, we have so little "footballing" talent at the club right now with Clarke, Marshall & Taylor gone, I wouldn't want to lose any of the little we still have. We are not going to hoof or tackle our way to success.

There is definitely a good player there somewhere but he really seems to struggle offering any kind of impact in the final third. I think he needs to get out of the safety net that being contracted with Newcastle provides and find a club on a permanent basis where he can really develop because he hasn't shown much development over the past 18 months with us.

That said, as @Jimmylivesnextdoor@Jimmylivesnextdoor says, given his age and ability, to get him on a free would be a good option for the club but I wouldn't want them to push the boat out to get him.

For me @abbomf@abbomf you want a winger to make an impact, unfortunately gillead doesn't. One goal and two assists isn't good enough for a "promotion" chasing side. He very rarely attacks his marker, compare that to young Gibson last night. The opposition full back couldnt deal with him, and gibson went around him six times off the top of my head. Admittedly the final ball wasn't always great but id rather a winger with desire and tempo than a safety first plodder which Alex seems to be

I would rather give Gibson a deal than Gilliead. Gilliead moves the ball up field well, but then? He has put in the odd good cross that more should have been made of, but for me, not enough actual result.

He needs to be man managed like Marshall was with McCall

there is certainly some ability there, its just getting the most out of him.

    What do you mean?

Marshall needed an arm around him because PP didn't rate him better than Reid, so he wasn't playing. Stuart convinced him to stay and played him all the time, thus getting a lot out of him.

Gilliead plays every week. I don't really see the similarity. We are getting out of Gilliead what Gilliead is capable of, particularly if you aren't rating him purely on his form while the whole team has been awful.
