I think it's an okay signing, we had him before, I thought he was okay then too, he's got a lot of skill and can move with the ball, we all know he lacks firepower and that's a bit of a worry.

I'd be most surprised if I was actually surprised by Gilliead, though. I doubt he's much different to when he was last here. It seems like an easy signing who will fit into the team just fine, but will he help us go up or will we finish outside the top 7 again?

Who even knows what an assist is ? Run at a defender, cause chaos and have them back tracking into panic but pass the ball to someone else who then directly lays on a goal isn't and assist is it but its an effective piece of play. Goalie clears a ball 75 yards to someone on the edge of the box who lays it into the path of the goalscorer isnt an assist. I don't pay any attention at all to assists because all they seem to be is the last player to pass the ball to the goalscorer.

If a team score 60 goals then in theory there could be 60 assists but the stats never say that. Every player who touches the ball in the build up to a goal has had an "assist" in that goal in my book.

 

Assists aren't a great stat, that's why I was looking at the number of goals Scunthorpe scored last season as a more accurate gauge of the dangers posed by Eisa and Gilliead - and it doesn't make great reading!
