    Give over. Fordy is, erm Fordy.

    Love him or hate him. Erratic or stubborn, he offers a lot of noise but he has habit of speaking sense amongst his posts.

    From his earlier post... He is probably right that we are short 2 or 3. And ultimately, that the results of pre season mean nothing.

    Now I'm not advocating all that Fordy writes but this place would be bloody boring without some of his negative overtures. It's tempered by those whom are overly positive.

    Thankfully, their is a good amount of people whom are somewhere more centre ground.

    The problem is Dave( and Fordy) is ALWAYS EASY for any team on this planet to say we are 2-3 short.
    It’s about realism…three top end L1 players would be fantastic, but we have to realistic, we might not get what we want right?

    Once again contradicting yourself, if as you acknowledge Adams will learn from a defeat, he will also learn how his players react to a win.
    No one is denying fitness isn't a big part of preseason but its not the be all and end all, especially for a new manager who inherits players he knows little about, friendlies will give him an insight into those players.

    Six wins in seven has made it a pre-season to remember for Adams’ men.

    Asked if that has filled everyone with confidence heading to Exeter, the City manager said: “I think it’s always important to win football matches as it breeds confidence.

    “You could see it today (Saturday) that the players were in confident mood and happy with how they’ve done in pre-season.

    “That’s important to have for team spirit and their mental confidence as well.”

    I think he has to use this game as both a rehearsal for Exeter but to further understand his fringe players and his shortcomings in the squad.

    That's why we wanted him as manager. To be honest, regardless of the new signings I think under Adams we will see more consistency from the players who were already under contract, over the season and even over the 90+ mins. I am thinking about the likes of Watt, Sutton and Cooke. Pressing the opposition when we haven't got the ball.

    The one thing I note from Exeter's pre season is their tenancy to concede. Lost 2-0 to Shrewsbury at home today (both in first 9 mins). Conceeded 13 in last 5 pre season games
