Not sure about that. I think beating three PL teams, one over two legs, and becoming the first L2 team to reach a major final was a massively impressive achievement.
To then gain promotion in the same season was stupendous, albeit with help from Exeter, who obligingly dropped form like a stone.

I prefer to view the season as a whole - an utterly remarkable, never to be repeated, experience.

I remember thinking back in the early 2000's that seeing us at Wembley and then the Premier League I'd seen it all and there wasn't much left for me to witness at City.

It's safe to say I was completely wrong!

Yes, the football that season was probably the best I've seen from a City team (though some would argue the '88 nearly season was better). Watching Mills, Blake and Beags tear defences apart was enormous fun. We had a pre match prediction kitty and by Christmas people were routinely predicting 3 & 4-0 when they had first pick.
But, for me, the History Makers season pips it. Those utterly jaw-dropping night games against Arsenal and Villa were pure magic. Walking away afterwards, shaking our heads in disbelief, saying, 'Did that really happen'? The home game against Villa was such an incredibly professional performance. We outplayed them for long periods and could have won by more. And big Jim's goal at Villa Park - wow!

It wasn't that cold as I was in the companies box but...... It was so boring. Suited and booted to a football game:sick:
Watching the Bradford fans from within the Swansea ranks was spine tingling. The noise resonated.

I think my favourite game ever was Wolves away don’t think I have enjoyed a win as much. But as you say the history makers season was unique I don’t know about some of the younger posters on here but I know I will never experience anything like that again.

I think I remember the cold almost as much as the game itself. The next time we end up at Wembley please make it warmer.

No Dagenham at VP 1-1 on the Wed night. York at the weekend after, think big Jim scored in a 2 nil. Only win in half a dozen games up to Exeter we lost a few weeks later 4-1.....

    Then the run.

The only season that beats that season was promotion to the Premier league IMO. Poorish start under Jags but once we got going, oh it was a joy. Travelling to quality stadia in the Championship (for the time) with the ultimate goal of Premier League football, watching quality in McCall, Mills, Blake et al accumulating at Wolves. The buzz around VP and the excitement also off the field under GR... (yes I know it went pair shaped)

But I'm not taking from 2012/13, an amazing season under a manager whom had the midas touch amongst a good set of players.

The Midas Touch. Great 1970's film with Richard Burton in it about a man who could almost "will" disasters.

I managed to blag seats in the 'Club England' tier. Trouble was we were in the Swansea end of the stadium. But it was a fantastic atomsphere. We did ourselves proud that day, despite the result

I remember the Dagenham game very well. After seeing Park's "Churchillian" dance floor speech at the team hotel after the cup final I expected us to come out all guns blazing and batter them. In reality we were mightily relieved to come away with that late draw. I also remember the night of the Rovrum match a few weeks later, and how gutted I was when we left thinking we'd blown the play offs.

Just walking around the ground etc beforehand and seeing whole generations with big beaming smiles. Big team supporters just don't get that feeling

No where near. There are things that could be done with Nigella that would make me puke even thinking about it with Rhodes. Guess Rhodes is to me what Rupp is to you !

Don't really see a menage a trois with Rhodes & Nigella having the same impact as one with Nigella & Katya Adler (or Keeley Hawes).

It was like a death sentence had been lifted. Unbelievable scenes of joy. Grown men crying (and that wasn't just me).

Wow 8 years time flies. We had a great night pre match in the Chandos Bar even got a Leeds fan singing along (His wife is a City Lass) . The City support was amazing match day even though we got stuffed .
