Can’t believe it’s 8 years, we’ve had some pretty special days since and terrible ones. It’s never dull been a City fan.

It wasn't that cold as I was in the companies box but...... It was so boring. Suited and booted to a football game:sick:
Watching the Bradford fans from within the Swansea ranks was spine tingling. The noise resonated.

Wow 8 years time flies. We had a great night pre match in the Chandos Bar even got a Leeds fan singing along (His wife is a City Lass) . The City support was amazing match day even though we got stuffed .

I think I remember the cold almost as much as the game itself. The next time we end up at Wembley please make it warmer.

Watched this game in a bar in Galway, stuck 50 euro on us to lift the cup, first bet I'd had since the grand national in nineteen-ninety something.

Shame we got stuffed. The game isn't talked about much for obvious reasons but what an achievement to get there.

Better remembered season for the promotion.

Not sure about that. I think beating three PL teams, one over two legs, and becoming the first L2 team to reach a major final was a massively impressive achievement.
To then gain promotion in the same season was stupendous, albeit with help from Exeter, who obligingly dropped form like a stone.

I prefer to view the season as a whole - an utterly remarkable, never to be repeated, experience.

I remember thinking back in the early 2000's that seeing us at Wembley and then the Premier League I'd seen it all and there wasn't much left for me to witness at City.

It's safe to say I was completely wrong!

Bit off track but wasn't the game after Swansea away at Exeter?. We got hammered, PP kept the players in the dressing room to watch the whole game over before back on the coach. They then had to watch it again before arriving back in Bradford early hours when PP told them it was Sunday morning training.
We went on the run to Wembley after that and, as you say, Exeter blew up big time. We last lost at Exeter and ........

No Dagenham at VP 1-1 on the Wed night. York at the weekend after, think big Jim scored in a 2 nil. Only win in half a dozen games up to Exeter we lost a few weeks later 4-1.....

    Then the run.

No, Exeter was Good Friday, which is even more reason why the run to Wembley was remarkable as we only won one of the 6 matches between Wembley & Exeter and only picked up 7 points. After Exeter we then went on an 6 match unbeaten and picked up 14 points from 18. The match after Swansea was Dagenham at home and we drew 1.1 with a very late James Hanson goal.

The only season that beats that season was promotion to the Premier league IMO. Poorish start under Jags but once we got going, oh it was a joy. Travelling to quality stadia in the Championship (for the time) with the ultimate goal of Premier League football, watching quality in McCall, Mills, Blake et al accumulating at Wolves. The buzz around VP and the excitement also off the field under GR... (yes I know it went pair shaped)

But I'm not taking from 2012/13, an amazing season under a manager whom had the midas touch amongst a good set of players.

Thought that 1-1 was Connell late penalty or was that another game? :@/

The Midas Touch. Great 1970's film with Richard Burton in it about a man who could almost "will" disasters.

I managed to blag seats in the 'Club England' tier. Trouble was we were in the Swansea end of the stadium. But it was a fantastic atomsphere. We did ourselves proud that day, despite the result
