Funny old game as they say, I believe in the West Ham game Paul Jewell was criticised by fans and owner for not shoring up the defence whist today Graham Alexander is criticised for doing the opposite, who'd be a football manager.

Poor challenge but how much was the referee influenced by the players antics on the deck.

If Dean Saunders hadn't missed a sitter, it may have been different m8

I'm not blaming Alexander today. It's a miracle that we were 4-3 up after 90 minutes. I'm not having that a decent ball into the box from their winger is the difference between a managerial masterclass or a monumental fck up.

Funny thing is about this, there is no difference to the Everton tackle which had VAR taking years to decide with every angle possible from James Webb telescope!
Stupid tackle but so inconsistent at all levels with or without VAR

I’ve just watched the highlights. What a complete disgrace from those 3 Swindon players after the OG. Totally unacceptable.

Illness affected a few players apparently leading up to the game. This is the reason Lapslie and Baldwin were missing and also why Pattison was withdrawn at half time

Why? At least Smallwood’s was a genuine attempt to play the ball, and actually did so before the follow through. The one on Pattison was a straight studs up smash into his knee, nowhere near the ball and incredibly dangerous.

The annoying thing about today apart from Smallwoods brain dead challenge is we were 7 minutes away from being almost on the brink of automatic promotion. Now we’re under real pressure on Thursday night with them all breathing down our neck, plus no captain Smallwood for three crucial games.

Have I calmed down. No way . Luckily results were not too bad.
What is really annoying me is how many chances does this team need to get over the line
Gillingham Tranmere Accrington Swindon one point just think about that stat
1 point from 12 that’s terrible and for me bar today
Most of the blame goes on GA with poor tactics and poor player selection
If we manage to get over the line, it will be by the skin of our teeth I really don’t fancy us in the playoffs with our horrendous performances away from VP

I completely agree but I'm looking at the season as a whiole, not 75 minutes of it.

I would play Baldwin there, he's been our best defender so far and he's been very good on the ball.

We agree it was his momentum that got him sent off because he won the ball without doubt, it wasn't as if it was studs in the air so apart from it being a robust challenge the players wasn't going to get a broken leg, just how are you supposed to make a tackle without contact, I'll repeat the games gone soft, you saw these sort of challenges week in week out and there weren't players in numbers with broken legs.
I may have agreed if Glatzel had been carried off for the challenge but he stayed on and played his part in our defeat I don't think its uncommon for the referee to react to the player rolling around on the ground, and before you suggest it's not only opposition players that roll around I agree we do our share.

Cannot blame GA for today. We were so much in control today before the sending off.

I think it was Reading and I remember thinking what a good team and so proved in the promotion they achieved the following season.

But @Bumblebee_Tuna@Bumblebee_Tuna suggests Tarkowski won the ball first, well unless my eyes were deceiving me so did Smallwood.

I don’t blame him for today, but he certainly did not help with his tactics
