Claret and amber and black and white is a famous clash of colours. Be a nightmare for the officials to distinguish the teams, it’s only right we play in bright orange...

 

The white Italia 90 one is a classic also. Unfortunately getting one for under 100 quid is pretty tricky.

 

Funnily enough, as I was leaving the shop this morning, a bloke with his kids was just going in. One of the little lads said “wow that’s bright” and his dad replied “it’s the keeper top so it has to stand out”.

 

Football kits aren’t just for kids, or they wouldn’t sell them in M, L, XL etc. Just because you wouldn’t be seen dead in a City shirt, doesn’t mean they aren’t for grown-ups too....!

And I wouldn’t worry about wearing a JCT emblazoned logo to make you look a prat

 

There are far worse 3rd kits, including WHU this year

 

I wonder if the no advertising policy extends to tacky clothing brands, like Calvin Klein underwear or Superdry hoodies.

 

It's not just about the front of the kit but the back is almost solid claret so when playing Northampton the back will be a total clash and they have white shorts so we'll most likely use the 3rd kit for that match.
Also as the shorts have different sponsors on the back so we'll have agreements in place to wear them a minimum number of times so it won't be a case of just swapping shorts around.

I wrote this about 24 hours ago, didn't realize it hadn't posted.

It reminded me of when England played Holland back in euro 96 and hammered them. Barry Davies was commentating and and paraphrased the Vodafone slogan. Damn, he was a good commentator.

 

I can see a few have bought them, and indeed they do look like stewards. Maybe a few clever ones can get in to some away games for free this season

 

Serious question - what size should I buy for a ten year old? About 145cm tall. Anyone got a child of similar height?

Nooooo. Mix and matching home shirts and away shorts is a big no no.

My son is 10 years old and 149cm. I bought off Ebay, last seasons shirt. It's a LB size. and is a little bit snug (although he's a unit.). If I was buying him a new one from the club shop, maybe I'd go for XLB, because probably small mens is a bit big, and he'll fit into it at the end of the season when it becomes out date

 

Correct mate, I was sat behind the goals at Grimsby with my 1994/95 shirt on and did I give a s**t what anyone thought of me.
Washed and in my case for a week in the sun a week on Wednesday, I only miss the Forest Green home game, 3 points in the bag .
