You are on form today. We missed the Aston Villa and the Chelsea games. Blackpool had magic sparkly stuff all over it. We managed to get snippets of the Chelsea game via Sky News on a cruise ship, at 9/10 in the morning. In the ships newspaper City were headline news.

Like you, I’d put the Chelsea FA Cup game as the best single City match I’ve attended.
The Arsenal game was a fantastic atmosphere as was Villa away. But the home semi final leg against Villa was an incredible performance too. A classic Rory near post header and Carl McHugh’s brilliant fall after scoring the third. Great night.

All fantastic, everyone of them, but surely nothing touches beating Leeds in the League Cup with Knott's thunderbolt and Jim's header ?

Not for me. That was great, but the Chelsea performance takes the biscuit. For a mid table L1 team to come back from two goals down and win the second half 3-0 against the PL leaders (and eventual champions) - for whom every starter and substitute was a full international - is nothing short of miraculous. Especially when you consider it was the only match Chelsea lost at home, in any competition, all season.
Not for nothing is it considered possibly the greatest FA Cup upset ever.

Both tremendous results and games. I would also add the winner against Liverpool to stay up in 2000.

I just couldn’t get a ticket for the Chelsea game, so from a personal perspective l saw the Leeds match, but caught the Chelsea game through score updates and of course the subsequent TV highlights.

So for me the Leeds game gets it.
