Just seen George Ray (Centre Back) has left Barrow. 30 years old, big fella at 6'4 and played 45 games for them last season. Think Barrow had one of the best defenses in the league.

Wouldnt be a bad addition if Taylor and Stubbs leave. With Tomkinson and Oyegoke gone too we probably need to bring in 3.

 

He set us back, but not this far.

I think implosion is the right term, but a better way for me to say it is that it caused our relegation as the players downed tools, and we are still recovering from that relegation. As we all know from early 2000s, getting out of League 2 isn’t easy.

 

I agree in part, but since then we appear to be lacking in ppl with the appropriate skills being employed to repair the damage. So yes Rahic hollowed out our club, and SR doesn’t have a clue who to employ to get us going again. He has patched us up from time to time, but we need thoughtful investment to help climb out of this league.

Nobody is suggesting that we should be walking the league but I can't accept that a single top 7 finish is anywhere near good enough for our latest spell in the basement.

For me, we're underperforming massively, even while accepting that we aren't being handed the most generous of budgets.

 

Lost 5 & drawn 2 of their final 7 games, to completely bottle an excellent position in the play-offs? No thanks

As non of us know what sort of contract these guys are on at city, we also do not know how easy and expensive it might be to chop the jolly boys, as you call them.
I would also point out that not all the players that have arrived are flops, Kavanagh looks a good prospect and although not ours Ogeyoke and Tomkinson both look like decent footballers.
I also liked the look of Wilson, well the little we have seen of him.

Unfortunately 1 maybe 2 players out of all the shite that have come and gone can only be classed as failure, and by Gents own admission he should live or die by the results. Well i'm sorry, but how can it not be viewed as anything less than a spectacular failure? Who cares how much it costs to sack him. That might be true but let’s be honest he’s two to three years on since he was at VP and he was very poor at their place two weeks ago . So not for me Steve.

 

He was also pretty poor while he was here. Had the turning circle of an oil tanker and made plenty of individual errors.

I was pretty pleased when he moved on if I'm honest.
