2024 Released Players & City transfer rumours

I bought a season ticket yes - not on the strength of any press release, just because I’m a City fan end enjoy my football on a Saturday afternoon.

Slightly underwhelmed at the transfer business so far, but we shall see….

 

MacAnthony is so unprofessional.

He should not be divulging negotiations on the public domain between his club and other clubs.

He has a lot of form for this, and I would trust him less than Rupp and Sparks

 

Based on the close season recruitment so far, past communications from the owner and CEO that has promised but not delivered, with a bloke who has delivered div 1 and championship football fo P ' boro then I would trust the latter - Idlebantam.

He knows if he mentions it anything about us lots of our fans lap it up so he brings us up at every opportunity to get the views.

Whether or not this is true as you say it is totally unprofessional and only benefits him, he clearly knew what he was doing by posting it.

 

He's simply setting the record straight on a blatant lie told by either the club or Simon parker

 

I'd trust Pol Pot more than I'd trust that pair of charlatans. They lie to the fans year on year and imo they've very little goodwill left now and a poor start will absolutely see the return of the protests.

I've still got my Rupp/Sparks out placard The one thing I remember from that demonstration was a gentleman walking in front of us looking and tutting in disgust. We all want better for our club and a good start to the season is crucial.

 

Personally don't really want crithlow back anyway. Always thought he was a bit too laid back.

 

Listen to his podcast posh fans not very happy with all the sales and their defence. They seem to think he is coining it in. He talks about that favourite amongst our fans the need to be yes Sustainable

 

If MacAnthony said he was interested in taking over the club i'd go pick him up myself tomorrow. Fella has given Peterborough 12 seasons in league 1 and 4 seasons in the championship since he took over them in league 2. I couldn't give a shit what he says on a podcast, he'd have this sorry arse club of ours out of league 2 i guarantee.

That’s because his competition for those City fans, is non-existent. If they have a choice between Rupp (with Sparks clinging along like a piece of shit stuck to arse pubes) and MacAnthony, the latter wins every time

 

Yet Alexander tells us the 2 trialists that went to Austria are no longer at the club, presumably Graham and the keeper.

So in the managers own words he was on trial, how you thought differently is baffling.

 

Perhaps it's better to ask yourself why he's consistently out performing our club despite much lower attendances and arguably a much smaller club.

Once you've answered that it's probably only natural that we'd cast a jealous glance over at Peterborough and what they're achieving in comparison to our perennial underachievers tag.

 

I like the way he defends his views in public and stands by them and would be prepared to share the driving with you. He says what he means, and where possible stands by it. If it's a straight face off between him saying we made a silly offer, and us saying we didnt even make contact then I know who I believe.

All he's done wrong is relay too much details of it, when he could have just said we made an unacceptable offer and left it at that.

 

A club their size should be at best a yo-yo L1-L2 club. A large chunk of the money they have made in the last 5 or so years has gone on the academy. The plan of spending on the youth to make it back down the line is a great... but you need a solid financial base to be able to make that gamble. I very much doubt they'd have gone that route if they were still a L2 club, because the costs to build and run a Cat 2 academy would be far too much. They pulled the triggers at the best time and now they are selling for good fees.

I know the vocal owner with a track record of spending/making money in football is a far cry from what we have, publicly facing up to everything takes massive nuts. But it's also worth remembering he has said himself they wouldn't have achieved anything near as much as they have without his American investors. DMAC wouldn't be able to fund the project on his own, anywhere near be able to fund it. I like DMAC, but it's very easy to fall into the idea of his ownership. If you scratch under the surface, their fanbase moan with the transfer policy, especially when they got promoted to the Champ and brought in kids rather than some experienced pros.

He's also a good salesman, just listening to his podcasts he makes you believe in the summer they have a world beating squad. He even makes his transfer listed players seem good. I remember last summer, he was telling his co-host to tell Sparks to bring in Idris Kanu "he'd tear up L2 no problem" type words... ends up at Barnet with a very up and down season. Then you remember the Callum Cookes and Jermaine Andersons that City we end up with. I used to watch a youtube guy who was a Peterborough fan, and every now and again he'd be on a stream and people would be amazed when he'd say their transfers aren't that great "because for every Ivan Toney, there's 10 Ryan Brooms we buy and then can never get off the books".
